This tour has been specially crafted and perfected from 10+ years of Two Fat Blokes guest feedback.
Visit some of the Hunter Valleys best wineries to sample some delicious wines. We don’t stick to a formula and we’re constantly doing research. As long as we get great feedback from our guests, you might visit boutique, new, large, small, old, and/or unique wineries.
We want you to enjoy the best of the Hunter Valley, with unique wine encounters that are not available to your average walk-in wine-taster. We’re not about just taking you to a cheese or chocolate tasting, we think you deserve more. On top of cheese/chocolate and wine pairing exercises, we’ve worked with some of the Hunters best wineries to craft a range of mystery experiences especially for our guests. These are designed to build your wine knowledge while also getting you involved with the process and allowing you to learn what makes Hunter Valley wine unique.

5.00We enjoyed very pleasant, enjoyable and well paced Hunter Winery experience. Our driver Dave was very well versed in wines, the industry and the area. Our group was well "paired" and got on like a house on fire. The wineries, the route and lunch all fitted in together.

5.00I am single and travelling around Australia, so when I stay in a wine region I like to book a wine tour and not have to worry about the drinking and driving. But this was so much more than a wine tour. The pairings with chocolate and cheese elevated it to a different level. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn what wines go with what cheeses and what chocolates. I wasn't so impressed with the brewery at the end of tour. I usually like breweries, but this one had only selected beers on their tasting paddle. All three beers were pretty terrible. They weren't to my taste, but I am sure I would have felt different if I could choose some of the other beers they had on tap.

3.00Wasn't the best I experienced. I hoped to have a nice cheese tasting with wine and cheese introduction. But our driver just read from paper wine discriptions with no emotions. The most disappointing was dry lunch in boxes. I expected hot meal as the other tours normally provide.

5.00We were bought this tour as a birthday present for my husband Jonathan. We were picked up promptly by Dave from Spicers’ Retreat. We started with Oakvale and had a very enthusiastic guy describe all the different wines. Our second stop included cheese pairings. The next at First Creek we had our tastings and in our opinion the best winery followed by lunch. We had 1 more stop for wine which included chocolate pairings. Lastly we stopped at Watson’s Brewery and for those who wanted a tasting of three beers. We had a friendly bunch and a fabulous driver.

1.00Our experience was really poor. The day started well with a trip to a small organic winery. We followed this with the paired chocolate and wine tasting. After this is when the tour went downhill, our next destination was the two fat blokes restaurant for our cheese board. When we received our cheese board the entire selection was frozen from the ham to the cheese and strawberries. This was followed by by the cheese and wine tasting which was good but it was also clean skin wines from another winery, following this we actually went to the winery they bought their clean skins from and did a tasting of essentially the same wines. This did not feel boutique or special especially for the price. We had a list of wineries we wished to visit and while we actually drove up the drive way of one and got the history of what was called the oldest winery in the hunter the tour actually never stopped there. We then had to do our own tour the next day driving around where we had some incredible wines and experiences and received far more history and information of growing processes then the previous day. This tour had us feeling like we had been scammed and wasted our money.

5.00Absolutely fantastic. Dave was beyond brilliant and crafted a lovely day. He was funny, knowledgeable, fun and flexible. I felt like I had a genuine Hunter experience. I feel like I got more than value for money. Can’t recommend more. Thanks Dave!
