Guided by our experienced crew, with Catch & Cook Adventures go on a fishing safari on the turquoise waters of the Raiatea and Taha'a lagoon and experience a unique fishing adventure in Polynesia! Try fishing and try to catch a wide variety of pelagic or lagoon species (tuna, mahi-mahi, wahoo, carangues, barracuda, bonito, grouper, snapper, etc.). But the adventure doesn't stop there! After winding up your catch, you will stop on a motu for the “cook” part of the adventure. With your Captain-Cook, you will learn how to prepare and cook your fish, turning it into a delicious traditional Polynesian feast. 5.00This adventure was amazing. My wife and I were taking this adventure from a cruise ship. Due to an issue on this ship, we pulled into port about 1.5hrs later. We had been in contact with Keunzo, so he was waiting for us when we finally arrived. Due to the wind conditions, he took us around to the other side of the island. We got to see a fish trap before we went fishing ourselves. We did deep water casting, big game trolling, and shallow water stick fishing. We caught two chameleon grouper, one of which we cooked up for lunch. The lunch spread was amazing: ceviche, fresh grouper, marinated tuna, loads of vegetables, and rum punch. My wife and I got some snorkeling and swimming in while lunch was being prepared (we tried a motu, but the mosquitos were nasty). Keunzo was super friendly, helpful, and genuinely excited for every fish we caught.

5.00The experience was absolutely amazing! We had a successful day, catching eight fish in total. Captain Kenzo was fantastic and truly made the trip memorable. We even got to enjoy some of our fresh catch! We landed a 2 kg chameleon grouper and a 2kg black trevally. I totally recommend booking a trip with Captain Kenzo!

5.00Very good excursion. Kenzo's on top. He is in care from the beginning to the end of the day. Meal prepared by him. Do not hesitate to brave the waves for fishing. We highly recommend. Very nice day he is taking care of these guests.

5.00Spending the day with Kenzo is more than just a sea trip: it’s diving into the world of a passionate young biologist who lives for his lagoon. We practiced traditional angling with him, took out some nice catches that we released, then discovered the coral garden. The day ended with the preparation of raw fish with coconut milk, freshly opened and grated nuts. A unique, authentic and memorable moment that I recommend to all those who want to experience Polynesia differently.

5.00Great day on the boat! We fished in the morning and caught some keepers for lunch. Lunch was awesome!!! Rum drinks and coconut water were delicious. Snorkeling with sharks was cool! Your host is a marine biologist, so lots of knowledge. Perfect day. Do NOT book directly from Facebook. Go to the business’s website and book directly with your host. I called the day before just to verify our meeting spot and he didn’t know we were coming. It worked out, so no worries. I’ll always try to skip the middleman in the future.

5.00My father and I had a memorable day, we caught several fish including groupers that we then cooked on a wood fire on an isolated and quiet motu! We even caught benitiers that we tasted in a ceviche. Kenzo had also prepared us some pickled tuna, tarot and delicious local fruits, pure taste pleasure... we then fished outside the lagoon, on the other side of the reef and there that adventure, a catch so imposing that the son finally gave way, an adrenaline that we will not forget (a shark?) And then icing on the cake, dolphins accompanied us part of the way back to the port 🤩 I recommend 100%, thank you Kenzo for an unforgettable day!

5.00We loved our fishing trip with Captain Kenzo. He would have picked us up at the cruise pier but I missed his message and we walked to the other pier. I recommend messaging Kenzo ahead of time to verify where to meet and not just going by the directions on Viator. All of fishing gear, bait, water, and juice was provided. We fished several different locations and caught fish to cook for lunch. We went to a moto for lunch and Kenzo cooked the fish we had caught. Kenzo let us decide if we wanted to hang out on the moto longer or go drift snorkeling. We opted to go snorkeling. The fish and coral were amazing. It was a fun day and Kenzo was fun to hang out with. We highly recommend this tour!
