The University tour was excellent. Filipe was a great guide, very knowledgeable and pleasant. He provided clear directions via WhatsApp ahead of time on where to meet, and even sent some restaurant recommendations following the tour. The tour, especially visiting the beautiful library, was a highlight of my time in lovely Coimbra.

We never connected with the guide. We were told first to meet in front of the general library but no one came there so we split up so with one there and the other at a central spot where tours had to come through. We spent 30 minutes asking people if they were our guide. We texted the guide and were told to wait at a spot which we did. Still no guide. Finally we gave up. Later received a message that we should have been at another spot. I actually asked people in that spot earlier with no confirmation. We have had many Viator tours and this is our first bad experience.
