5.00I liked very much the tour. The guide (Renan) had a lot of knowledge an experience related to the history of the University of Coimbra, as well as the history of Portugal. He had a enjoyable and interesting way to explain all details related to the historical areas and landmarks that we visited at the University, as well of those of the City.

5.00Only the four of us on this tour, starting at 2pm. Excellent, well informed and friendly guide who was a past PhD student at Coimbra University. He took care to assist our friend who walked a little slowly. Not many other people visiting so we had a very good opportunity to see the Joanina Library

5.00My 19 year old daughter and I were so glad that we took this 1,5 hour tour. Renan is an excellent story teller! He was very informative, and at the same time it was easy to comprehend and remember Portuguese history. Highly recommend this tour with Renan, even for children it would be interesting.

5.00Exceptional tour! Renan is knowledgable, personable, and made the entire experience both educational and entertaining. We would take the tour again, if we knew Renan would be the guide! Great way to spend our first morning in Coimbra, so we could fully appreciate the city while we are here.

5.00Philippe took us through the old library and we loved it. He spoke fluent English and very good French. He was most interesting would love us! With his nice nature we could learn a lot about the history of the university and the library. We would have stayed with him for many more hours!

4.00Wonderful city! I mistimed how long the walk up to the University would take and missed my appointment at the Joanina Library, but the very kind guide let me come back for the last tour of the day and they had a no show so I did get to see the incredible library! Don’t miss it! My second favorite thing was the Gabineta de Curiosidades which was fantastic! I loved everything I saw, the Royal Palace, the Chapel, the science museum, really everything there was steeped in history and yet so alive. My friends also loved it. I want badly to return someday and spend more time there. The site has an amazing feel to it, and the people who get to actually attend school at this fascinating university are so lucky! The only sad thing was that I wish they had a way to provide ADA access.
