Ushaiqer Heritage Village
We reach the traditional village of Ushaiqer after a two-hour drive. One of the most vibrant examples of Najdi architecture, Ushaiqer is typical of the central plateau of Saudi Arabia. Ushaiqer is one of the oldest towns, existing for “over a millennium” and it was a major stopping point for pilgrims coming from territories that are now Kuwait and Iraq to perform Hajj or Umrah in Makkah. We get the opportunity to roam its narrow alleyways that run between elegant traditional houses, palaces, and old mosques. We also visit a private collection of old antiques at a museum in one of the most beautiful old houses in the village. We conclude our visit from an impressive viewpoint overlooking the area. After that, we will have an authentic Arabian picnic experience in the dunes (subject to weather conditions) or at a traditional restaurant before returning to Riyadh.

5.00The city is a small jewel of clay, really beautiful. We were welcomed by an old man that proudly let us inside his house, which he transformed in museum and offered us drinks and snacks of the area. From there we took with a local guide, thay is also the guardian of that museum. Our guide from Riyadh till there, Mohamed, was excellent, giving us lots of interesting info.. He was very knowledgeable, his English faultless. He was also very patient as we extended for longer in activities like lunch and the visit. Totally reccomend.

4.00A small artificial/redbuilded village far away from Riyad (2 hours drive without traffic). If you saw similar ones in Oman or Yemen, you may skipped. Dinner after the sightseeing was very good.

5.00Awesome day. Tour guide clever, entertaining and intuitive. Great driver. Good taste in music. Took time to ensure the visit was everything I wanted it to be. Lunch restaurant was a lovely too.

3.00The excursion is not good value for money. We went on Friday and after the visit of the town we had to come back to Riyadh for lunch because the restaurant in the town was closed for prayer. So 4 hours drive for 1 hour visit to the town and come back to Riyadh for lunch. The lunch was nice
