Departure for Bukhara (450 km). The route leads through the Amu-Darya river and the Red desert (Kyzilkum). In Uzbekistan there are two great rivers: the Amu-Darya in classical antiquity was known by the Greek name of Oxus and the Syr-Darya, known by the Greeks as Jaxartes or Yaxartes. Visit the main monuments of Bukhara, in particular the main square Lyabi-Hauz built around a pool in 1620. To the east of the statue is the Madrassa by Nodir Devan Beghi (1622), originally built as a Caravanserai. To the north is the Madrasa Kukeldash (1568-1569) - which is the oldest and largest complex in the Piazza. One of the oldest mosques in Central Asia is located in Bukhara - The Magoki-Attari mosque (10th - 12th-16th centuries). Visit to the summer palace of "Mokhi Xosa" and the Minaret Kalyan "the Great Minaret", with a height of 47 m. Near the Kalyan Minaret is the Kalyan Mosque, connected to the Minaret by a small bridge. Continuation in the Ark citadel (XVIII-XIX century) is a real city, center of the State Organization of Bukhara. Next to the pool in front of the entrance to the Ark is the Bolo-khauz Mosque (1712) - an official place of worship for the Emir, a place of special beauty. The Mausoleum of the Samanids (10th century) was built during the period of Ismail Samani (892-907) and became the family tomb of the Samanids.

The Palace Complex of Ak-Saray
Transfer to Shakhrisabz "the green city". Visit the splendid ruins of this ancient and glorious city, with over two thousand years of history. It was built according to a model typical of the early Middle Ages with a central structure similar to those of Samarkand and Bukhara and continued to develop during the 9th and 10th centuries despite the continuous conflicts between the Samanid dynasties and the Turks. It is the birthplace of Tamerlane and once, probably, his fame even obscured that of Samarkand. 5.00Our 12 day tour was absolutely fantastic. Our drivers, guides and hotels were all professional, punctual and friendly. We had a wonderful trip and would recommend using this company. Communication during the booking process was always prompt and helpful, changes to our itinerary were done with ease and nothing was too much trouble, thank you Madina for all your help. If you are going to Uzbekistan don't hesitate to use this company, as frequent travellers they certainly are amongst the best we have used.

5.00This trip to Uzbekistan was for us a magnificent discovery: discovery of an exceptional architectural heritage, discovery of the Uzbeks and their hospitality. The organization by Narina, our local agent, was perfect. Transfers by train or car went very well, the hotels were quality. We also benefited from the Service of very competent Francophone guides who were able to respond to our requests. At this time, the climate is very pleasant, sunny and at the bearable temperature. The trip to this country is done safely in a relaxed Mood.

5.00testimony: "We come back enthusiastic about this trip very well organized by our correspondent Narina. Drivers on time...quality guides, skills, availability. Before we left the friends, the family tried to dissuade us from going to this country "not sure" they were worried for us who are not "players" while we felt safer than at home in France. Hotels deserving of their 3*, a downside however on that of Tachken (room not made at 4:30pm!...) Breakfast Service a little rough) but we understand that it may not be easy to find the same services at the same rates in the capital. A Safe Country!... Charming Natives, Ready to Service, Smiling....Clean Cities. And of course sumptuous monuments, rich in history... One piece of advice may be: travel light, rather than a large checked suitcase, I recommend a smaller checked in cabin in addition to hand luggage if possible and if time is suitable. We had the unpleasant surprise that our bags were not loaded in the hold from Istamboul and had to wait a few days for our luggage ..... I hope I can convince anyone who hesitates, leave, trust "Anur Tour" with our new friend Narina whom we thank again for her professionalism and dedication."

4.00Just returned from 20 days in 4 Stan’s (TAD). Fab trip! More positives than negatives . Hot days and cool nights . Terrific guides . Big disappointment was that the points of interest had mostly been “renovated” and not much of the original remains . Interesting (and terrifying ) border crossings … not really made for western tourists wheeling 23kg suitcases. Really interesting natural features from snow covered mountains , steppes, rugged mountains, rushing rivers and quiet still lakes. If you like museums , mosques and markets you will love it . Highly recommended .

5.00Recommend heartily and without reservation! We booked a bespoke tour for my 50th birthday with a group of 6. I chose the timetable and the company created the tour around it taking in all the main sights of Uzbekistan (we had travelled to KZ and KR independently prior). The tour included a side trip to Turkmenistan but when some of us were declined an invitation, the wonderful Elina (our tour manager and all round help desk) helped us reroute through Tajikistan - which is a very beautiful country indeed. We travelled by minivan, air and Afroyisab train. All the connections, pick ups and activities were present, correct and on time. Guides were mainly excellent (especially Zarina, Salamat and Aziz) and spoke good English, and were flexible around what we wanted to do. The drivers were also mostly excellent. Hotels were good and well located. For what we got, the value was superb. I cannot praise Elina enough for her responsiveness, good humpor and willingness to help with whatever we needed. Even down to arranging birthday cakes for 2 of us as a surprise - that is service. I fully recommend this company for a tour in the region - it is an amazing and beautiful place to explore and the trip exceeded our expectations. 5 stars plus!

5.00We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Uzbekistan with a visit to the main cities on the Silk Road. On the advice of a colleague we turned to Anur Tour who organized a trip with attention to detail. The perfect transfers, the hotels, although 3 stars, were located in strategic locations close to the historic sites, spotless and welcoming; the guides in Italian were very kind and prepared.
