This full-day tour takes you to two of the country’s most breathtaking alpine areas — combining scenic mountain trails, traditional culture, and untouched nature.
We start with a drive from Ljubljana to Velika Planina, the largest highland pasture in Slovenia. Here we enjoy a guided hike across the plateau ( 2–3 hours), walking among traditional herdsmen’s huts while surrounded by panoramic views of the Alps and the Ljubljana Basin. The pace and route are always adapted to the group.
After we descend and continue through the scenic Savinja Valley to the stunning Logar Valley, one of Europe’s most beautiful alpine valleys. At the end of the valley, we take an easy walk to the impressive Rinka Waterfall, where nature feels truly untouched.
Group size is limited to a maximum of 4 guests to ensure a personal, flexible, and high-quality experience. Larger groups are possible as private tours.

Typical hiking time: 2–3 hours across the plateau

Velika Planina
We pick you up at your accommodation in Ljubljana and drive to Velika planina, located in the middle of Kamnik Savinja Alps. We do an hour long hike to reach the top. You are greeted with a magnificent view. The area of Velika planina is Slovenia’s largest highland pasture. It is often described as the most beautiful Slovenian plateau, offering breathtaking views of the Alps and the Ljubljana basin, accompanied by a well-preserved herdsmen’s heritage
After we explore the mountain and try traditional Slovenian food, we walk back to our transport, waiting to take us to the next spot. We drive along Savinja river in the Solčavsko region to our destination Logarska valley.

5.00Amazing! This tour to Velika Planina and Logar Valley was the highlight of an already great trip to Slovenia. The day was seamlessly planned with different options according to our time and interest. Climbing up to the meadow of Velika Planina was like entering another world—peaceful, vast and untouched by time. We enjoyed a delicious meal at the mountain hut and went to Logar valley and nearby waterfall, also very peaceful, capped by a lovely picnic. Tedej is an exceptional guide! His company and thoughtful guidance really blessed our day. Some guides speak too much or too little, but Tedej gives the perfect balance. We were able to savor the beauty of nature. My 11 yo son enjoyed the day as well! Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a memorable experience of nature’s beauty and peace!
