  Sadly we were 20 minutes late due to traffic. There are no exceptions if you’re late. I totally understand not being able to wait for people but we had no way of catching up with the tour at all or contacting anybody at all. It was very very disappointing to say the least. I’d waited for so long to be able to do this tour with my son, lost out on the experience, lost out on the money, and had to re-pay to get in to take a last minute run through Versailles. I sure wish there was someone we could’ve contacted. Will never make that mistake twice.

• Timing Lies - not worth the $

  The only reason this company deserves 2 stars is that Sophie was brilliant and the group size was small as promised. The reason this company fails to deliver is their incompetence bordering lies with timing. I specifically chose a tour of Versailles at 1000am because if you are there any later there is a mob of people. Minutes count here. More on that later. (1) you meet at the tour office which is a 10 minute walk to the palace. All the other tour groups saved time by meeting in front of the palace. Why are we wasting time at the visitor center???? Are you hoping one of the spend happy tourist buys the souvenirs? Upon checking in the receptionist said our tour would begin at 1010. And then there is the 10 minute walk to the palace. (2) We didn't entered until after 1030 and it was because the guide had a timed entry at 1030. Why advertize a 1000 start time if we don't enter until half a hour later? That's BS. I bought a 1000 tour not a 1030 tour. (3) why am I pissed about 30 mins? Well here's the thing: the caravans (I mean this literally) of tourist vans roll into Versailles at about 945-1000. Had we simply bought our own tickets online we could have strolled into the palace with hardly no wait or bus crowds of people in the rooms. So even though we could have gotten ahead of the dozens of busses that pulled up, we were waiting until 30 mins after the bus loads of people got in. (4) YOU DON'T NEED THIS TOUR or any tour to skip the ridiculous line. Here is what the paid off bloggers dont tell you: Just wake your a*s up early, be there 15-20 minutes before the palace opens, have your skip the line tickets purchased in advance directly from the palace online and listen to the self guided audio tour. You will be waiting minutes not hours and you will beat the tour bus crowds.

  More aptly called merge into the line from the side. It did save time though. You must go to the Paris City Vision office located at the corner of the Louvre to exchange your voucher for tickets. Couldn't do that until 10:00 am the day of your visit. We had a group of 17 and I was able to pickup all the tickets by myself.

  We had a tour of the palace, then some time to have dinner in the City of Versailles, and then went back to the Palace Garden for the Musical Fountains show and Fireworks. There is a lot of walking so save your energy. The RER C is an easy way to go / return.

  The tour was very good. We were staying opposite the Palace but still had to walk to the tour office and then straight back again. It would be nice if the meeting place was near the Palace, or at least allow people to meet there. Unfortunately for us it rained a lot of the time, even during the fireworks but we stayed till the end. The tour guide was ok but we have had better.

  I really recommend booking the tickets for Versaille castle with guideatours. The queue at the ticket counter was incredible long on a holiday, but with our fast lane pass we skipped the line and entered the castle in less than 15 minutes instead of 3-4 hours. Our guide Cassandra picked us up at the guideatours ticket office opposite the KFC at the railway station. She took us to the group entry at Versaille castle and organized the audio guide and the tickets for the castle and the garden. After that we were on our own for the visit. I would definetly book the tickets again to save time on a weekend city trip and to avoid the long queues.

  We had a wonderful time. We missed the meeting place. When we called they were happy to arrange a meetup at the palace. Our guide got us right in and found the best spots inside to tell us anout each room. She was delightful and knowledgeable.
