The tour was well organized and changes in the ferry schedule were communicated by the tour guide in a timely fashion. It gave us extra time at Sun Bay Beach. Rafael had beach chairs, drinks and fruit for the group. We had plenty of time for dinner before the paddle tour after dark. Oscar did a phantastic job explaining the bioluminescent organisms and the special environment. He added the Milkyway lesson as a bonus.

The tour company made logistics of travel easy for us. We were scheduled for the 3 pm ferry, but on that day it was scheduled for maintenance so our tour guide notified us the day before we would leave earlier on the 1 pm ferry. We would not have known about the maintenance had we tried to travel 1 hour from San Juan to the ferry by ourselves. We went to Esperanza beach. It was not my favorite beach in Puerto Rico, but it was nice and clean. The tour guide had water and fruit. Our lunch at Bananas was good. We LOVED the bioluminescent portion of the tour. It was worth the extra time and effort to travel to Vieques. This bay is the #1 bioluminescent bay in the world. The other bays in PR have been polluted and they are close to the city so the lights make it harder to see. This bay is protected. Such a cool experience! Definitely recommend.

Very well organized, ample time for beach and kayaking. The tour guide Rafael was very knowledgeable, courteous and was able to keep the tour on time without really pushing the guests.

It’s a very long day but totally worth it, the guides were very friendly and they were on time for pickup. We had to take the earlier 1pm ferry but that worked because then we had more time at the beach and to get dinner before doing the kayak the excursion. The bio bay is beautiful and on the clear bottom kayaks it’s like you’re flying through space. Would recommend if you don’t have a car in San Juan and are looking for a way to do this as a day trip.

Highly recommend this tour! Our guide Rafael was excellent!! Every detail and timing was executed flawlessly. Experiencing the Bio Bay is a once in a lifetime experience, worth every cent! And visiting Vieques and Sunbay was wonderful. Sunbay is one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen.

The all day excursion to Vieques was amazing! Our tour guide Rafael was very prepared for everything, from picking us up at our hotel to arranging for our ferry crossing to Vieques. Once we arrived there he stopped off at a local grocery store to pick up some snacks and fresh fruit for our beach day. It was a beautiful spot with and a great way to relax. We then continued our trip via a comfortable van to Esperanza where we had time to explore & have a nice dinner! The highlight of the tour was our visit to the bioluminescent bay. I won’t soon forget our night kayaking on this bay with the beautiful lights with every little drip of our paddles into the water under a clear starry sky. So memorable!! Our guide Rafael truly provided for our comfort and safety on this great adventure! Thank you for such a memorable day!

One of the best, most stunning, astonishing experiences Ive ever had before. If the beach is a delightful appetizer, the glowing ocean must be the perfect entree. Luckily the pouring rain adds even more mysterious, sacred feeling to the kayaking experience. Overall, the best.

The tour guides and lifeguards were excellent. They were very kind, attentive, and helped tow us when they saw we were struggling with the kayak, which we really appreciated. I didn’t bring any money because they had us store everything. Otherwise I’d tip them. However, the overall experience was difficult for us. The kayaking distance to the bioluminescent bay was much longer than we expected, and for beginners (especially with kids) it was quite challenging. Because we had to focus on controlling the kayak, we ended up missing much of the experience. Why not use row boats or foot peddle boats? They are the same human powered and eco friendly. It also rained during our trip, and we had to return to the ferry in wet clothes. The ferry is government-operated and not part of the tour, but we were required to stay inside where it was very cold and the temperature could not be adjusted, which made the return uncomfortable. The ferry crew was not helpful when we communicated that we were freezing. Why the tour did not recommend some rain jackets? The logistics overall felt rushed and not well thought out. We didn’t get to see much bioluminescence. It also doesn’t look like the promotional photos—those require long-exposure photography, and it’s essentially impossible to capture photos during the tour because it’s so dark and rushed. I want to emphasize again that the staff did their best and were very helpful. I would just recommend that people be prepared for a fairly long kayak in the dark and possibly difficult conditions, especially if you’re bringing kids or if you don’t have kayaking experience. And that the bioluminescence doesn’t shine at all like the photos. These are probably photoshopped. Bottom line is if you have an extra day, spend a night on the island so you don’t have to rush. This tour should be your last choice if you don’t have time.

This is a once in a lifetime excursion especially for nature lovers! You do need to come prepared for a few things: The travel to Vieques is ~1 hour on the bus from San Juan + ~1 hour ferry ride. No food is allowed on the ferry (but there are food/drink for purchase at the terminal) and the ride is hard on those with motion sickness (bring dramamine). We stopped at Sunbay beach to relax and have complimentary snacks then next at Esperanza beach where my group had dinner at Bananas with a lovely view of the water. Then you take another short (but very bumpy) bus ride to the kayaking. No water shoes are allowed so be prepared to walk barefoot through ankle deep mud and sandy beach in the dark before getting into the kayak (2 people per kayak). The bioluminescence is amazing and great for stargazing too! There are no mosquitos don't worry! You will get wet from your bottom down after the kayaking so I recommend bringing a change of clothes and towels (you can change in the ferry terminal bathroom). Highly recommend this experience and our tour guide Rafael was so kind and helpful every step of the way!
