An early morning departure is necessary to get the first riding of the trip completed. Drive straight to Da Lat and cycle fantastic country lanes and back roads in the shadow of Langbian mountain. The roads will be virtually traffic less, and it is a great way to get the feel of cycling in Vietnam. Dalat was established as a hill resort at the beginning of th last century by homesick French colonials who were attracted to its cool, spring- like weather, pine forests, water falls and lakes. Many reminders of Dalat’scolonial past can be seen in the hundreds of European style villas, chalets and other buildings still standing around town. One fine example is the cream-colored art deco villa that was onec the summer home of vietnam’s last emperor,BAO DAI.Another slightly grander example of Dalat’s colonial architecture is the superbly restored Dalat Palace Hotel overlooking the central Xuan Huong lake.

Every day was an adventure, an exploration, and a reward. The guide and support staff were wonderful. The e-bikes were great, the meals tasty Vietnamese fare, and the hotels were spectacular. There is literally not one complaint I, or my wife, have about the experience.

Our group of 4 did a private bike trip for 12 days, led by Tung from Saigon to Huế. All hotels and restaurants exceeded by far our expectations. Even rest stops in rural or remote areas were also carefully selected. All the food choices were great, fun; and none of us got food-borne illness during the trip. We requested e-bikes which have recently become an option and we were happy about it. We had some hiccups at the beginning as we learned how they worked. The e-bikes made it easier to climb the passes and manage the heat. Tung was an excellent tour guide. We enjoyed his company either in the saddle or during the car rides. He shared his broad knowledge of Vietnam history in an objective way. His warm and professional demeanor put us at ease right away. Hong, our driver was a delightful person who found a way to communicate through Google translate. He spoiled us with snack and fresh fruits. Both Tung and Hong made the trip memorable. Jolie, Tung's wife helped us with booking and preparation for trip. We highly recommend their service.

We took a somewhat short notice two-week trip and had to come and go on specific dates. We were able to book a custom tour and it went pretty much perfectly. We went form Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) To Hanoi via bicycle Van and train. We travelled by bike train and van. Because it was just the two of us, we were even able to even make small changes to the schedule along the way. Tung, the owner of Vietnam Bicycle Travel was the van driver and Saran was our bike guide. This was a really posh situation for us, but we loved it. We had a sag wagon too something i haven't used before, but it was nice reassurance as i was not in the best of bike shape after months of bad weather at home. We hope to go back with a group of friends in a few years and book another custom tour to a different part of Vietnam.

We decided somewhat last-minute to take this cycling trip in Vietnam. We booked too late to join a group for a pre-scheduled time period but Tung was able to accommodate our schedule for a private/custom guided tour, with Tung as driver, Sarane as bicycle guide, my husband and me. Everything about our experience was top-notch. Tung's English is excellent so communication was never a problem. He booked us into excellent hotels in perfect locations. Sarane was a great guide, always ready with thorough explanations about customs, culture, history food, geography; and was great at accommodating our cycling pace. They were always punctual and very well organized; he was really on top of all the details. The bikes were high-quality Specialized mountain bikes in excellent condition, very well-maintained. There were no schedule problems or hiccups. Everything went smoothly. The entire trip was very relaxed, social and enjoyable. We also learned that our trip with Vietnam Bicycle Travel cost less than half of what larger, US-based companies are charging for large groups. Tung's company is a bargain and well worth every penny!
