Viper is the only tour fast enough to get you to the hero destinations all in one day! No other tour can have you snorkelling on the outer Great Barrier Reef, doing the Hill Inlet bushwalk, and relaxing on Whitehaven Beach itself, in just a single day.
Our Marine Biologist on board conducts a guided snorkel safari on the reef for those who are interested. The spacious swim platform and in-water stairs make getting in and out of the water easy.
Our Rolls Royce jets offer comfortable but fast cruising speeds of around 36 knots, with very little environmental impact.
Due to the speed and manoeuvrability of the boat, all passengers MUST be 130cm or taller to ride.
**This tour is NOT suitable for anyone with a mobility impairment, back/neck/spine complaints, or those unable to walk unassisted. If you hesitated at any of these conditions, please call us to discuss how we can help you enjoy the Viper experience**

1.00I was extremely disappointed with this boat trip in Airlie Beach, Whitsundays, and the reef. Everything was rushed and done strictly in groups, it honestly felt like being on a high school trip. There was absolutely no freedom to explore or even move to a different viewing point. One staff member told me I could go to another lookout spot, only for another to say I couldn’t. It was unprofessional, understaffed, and badly managed. We were told to meet at 12:00pm for pickup, yet nobody arrived until 12:15pm. The boat operation was downright scary ,people were getting hit in the back while docking onto the main vessel because of how carelessly it was handled. The whole day felt chaotic, unnecessarily loud music blasting, everything pushed and rushed, and at the reef they basically shoved a snorkel mask into your hand and threw you into another big group with almost no guidance. For the price of over $360 AUD this was absolutely not worth the money. Way too expensive for such a poorly run experience. Definitely wouldn’t recommend. If you want to enjoy the Whitsundays relaxed, maybe pick a different vessel. Total duration is 10h from pick up at hotel, but actual quality time is about 7h max if you disregard the many wait times before entering the boat, at the beaches before pickup back to the boat, etc etc.

5.00Quite a great excursion where you can go out in one day, to Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet Lookoit and the Great Barrier Reef. Great organization and great crew. You feel safe and in good hands at all times. I would recommend the trip to anyone!
Not Quite the High-Adrenaline Experience We Expected

3.00We were really looking forward to an adrenaline-filled day on what’s advertised as the fastest boat in the region. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to expectations. The ride itself was surprisingly dull and boring—so much so that several people around me of varying ages may I add, nodded off, even my wife. The stops at the lookout and Whitehaven Beach were pleasant but felt quite rushed, supposedly to avoid crowds. However, it didn’t seem particularly busy. We had visited the same spots with Whitehaven Xpress the previous day, and even with more people around, it was perfectly manageable. The crew are promoted as knowledgeable marine biologists, but we didn’t really see that shine through. Snorkelling with guide Hayley was enjoyable, but the commentary was limited to naming fish species—no background information, environmental insights, or interesting facts that might have elevated the experience. On a positive note, the lunch and snacks were excellent, and dietary requirements were catered for extremely well. However, describing the tour as “all-inclusive” is misleading, as drinks aren’t included. Soft drinks and bottled water come at an extra cost, and while alcohol isn’t offered for understandable reasons, I would have expected at least bottled water to be provided given the price especially as the complimentary filtered water available on board was warm and very unpleasant tasting. Guests should also be aware that a significant portion of the day is spent at sea and during this time, seat belts must remain fastened, with no moving around or accessing the toilet. The engine noise is loud, and although music is played, the sound quality is poor, which only adds to the overall noise rather than enhancing the atmosphere. This tour may not be suitable for anyone unsteady on their feet. Boarding and exiting the tender for the lookout and Whitehaven requires some stability, and one guest in particular struggled. Also, many rules and strict “no sand on board” rule was enforced rather abruptly, and Captain Nico’s attempts at humour came across as a bit passive-aggressive rather than light-hearted. His manner, to us, felt a little surly throughout. Hayley and Shaun carried out their roles competently, though neither brought much personality or sense of fun to the experience. Overall, the day lacked the adrenaline, fun, and educational value we were hoping for, which is why I’ve given it an average rating. The Whitehaven Xpress day knocks spots off this day overall, even without the snorkelling.

5.00Nico and the team were awesome, and we had the opportunity to see so much beauty on the reef and Whitsundays. They were flexible with the schedule to make our day as good as possible, and also great with dietaries for lunch! Would absolutely recommend
