Only 4 passengers per vehicle. Home to the largest King Penguin colony, the Falkland Islands has over 1200 breeding pairs and will introduce you to them!
Volunteer Point is also home to numerous Gentoo and Magellanic penguins and a large variety of other bird life, and also boasts a long white sand-beach on which you can occasionally find a Sea Lion lurking.
This is a semi-private tour for 4 people per vehicle (4x4 vehicle).
We will be waiting you with a yellow sign with your name, we have yellow jackets and yellow signs. You will find us easily.
Jeep departs one hour after the ship docks.
Please do all that you can to get ashore quickly as it does make a difference.

5.00Seeing the penguins was a marvelous once in a lifetime experience. The jeep trip there and back was fun and interesting. It rained a bit going out, but stopped when we arrived. However, it still was very windy. The driver was expert and did a great job. I highly recommend this trip.
Bradley, our guide was outstanding!! And chicken curry sandwich and treats were a lovely surprise...best excursion on our trip.

5.00Do not miss this opportunity! What a thrill! Jimmy Story's Adventures is amazing. Thanks Sean for a great ride! We had a blast! The penguin reserve is breathtaking and you truly will walk with the penguins and the sheep! Dress warmly, the winds are unrelenting but are all part of the adventure! Thanks Jimmy for the hot coffee and delicious home made chicken, curry and mango chutney lunch...will def be making these when we get home! The Falklands Islands beauty lies in the stark landscape, strong winds and the kindness and strength of the locals. An adventure we won't soon forget, thank you!!?

5.00An excursion to remember. Excellent communication. Jimmy Curtis is a wonderful person, who arranged everything down to the last detail. 5.00Please bring warm clothes. The temperature felt is much colder. You drive offroad for about 2 hours, which can strain the discs and neck. Lunch consists of toasted slices, crisps and sweet snacks.

5.00We went to Volunteer Point with Jimmy Curtis Tours. Jimmy is the kindest, nicest tour guide ever. He's the person you want as you head off road. Forego the cruise expedition and arrange an excursion with Jimmy.

5.00Jimmy could not have been a better guide, driver and chef (he made phenomenal Coronation chicken sandwiches for our packed lunch). He was extremely knowledgeable and so tolerant of being peppered with questions while driving out to Volunteer Point. I love the coloring of King Penguins, and we saw hundreds of them. To see sheep milling about next to penguins is so surreal, too!

4.00Truly wonderful experience with the penguins and quite an “adventure ride” getting there. Had some difficulty with the brakes failing in the return which caused us some stress. Rather than move us to another vehicle, they chose to continue transporting us with failing brakes. This was not safe and should not have been allowed.

5.00Absolutely fabulous experience. Had Jimmy the boss and he was great to talk to during the 2 hour trip to King Penguins galore and very up close. He had the land rover which wasn’t as comfortable as his Land Cruiser so maybe ask for that if you are nice. He was so informative and knowledgable of not only the Falklands but general world. Lunch sandwich was super tasty. Highly recommended. Super close up photographic opportunities

5.00This was the highlight of our trip and so grateful that our ship managed to get into Port Stanley. Weather wasn’t very inviting so we were soaked to the bone, but the fact we actually got there was an achievement. It is a long drive there but that is all part of the experience. Lovely to see the King penguins in their own environment along with their chicks. Roy our guide was very knowledgable and gave us a great insight into life in the Falklands. A great trip
