This is the best wine tour in Christchurch/Canterbury. You will visit some of the best wineries in North Canterbury on the all-inclusive Waipara Wine Experience wine tour with Giles Tours. This tour includes tutored tastings at 3 boutique wineries and a delicious winery platter lunch. Departing Christchurch at 10.30am, you’ll taste a quality selection of wines in the up-and-coming Waipara wine region, including stops at Pegasus Bay, Torlesse Winery and Terrace Edge/Georges Road wineries. Learn from your knowledgeable guide about Waipara’s unique micro-climate as you taste a range of world class red and white wines. This is a shared tour but we only need a minimum of 2 people to run the tour with a maximum of 6 per tour. For private tours or a personal guided tour visit the operators website.

5.00What a fantastic experience with Giles on this tour. What he doesn't know about wines probably isn't worth knowing! We visited some fantastic wineries, and it was great seeing the vines just about to be harvested. Giles' was brilliant in adding so much to the information being shared from the winery staff. The wines were brilliant, and a lovely platter lunch was included. What a fantastic day, comfortable, interesting, delicious and well-hosted by Giles.

5.00Fantastic day - visited 3 wineries and the tour included a nice lunch. Giles is a safe driver and more knowledgeable than most of the windery staff that we spoke with! Highly recommended.

5.00We went with Giles and one other couple who we met at the starting point. Giles was so informative, and knowledgeable about wine and the local wineries - it was a pleasure to learn more from him. We visited 3 wineries, and one of them provided lunch as well. Each one had a different type of wine, and there was a lot of wine tasted! We were so impressed, and we were lucky that we got on so well with the other couple - overall this was a great trip. Sadly Giles tells us that he is going to retire in April, so if you want the same wonderful day, you need to book soon - we highly recommend this tour.

5.00Giles picked us up, and we join a few other people and headed up to waipara. The van was comfortable and Giles provided interesting facts and info along the way. Our first stop was Pegasus Bay, then on to two other smaller wineries. There was plentiful wine tasting at all stops. I thought the lunch was ok, but not fabulous. Would recommend Giles and his tour.
