Waitomo is a Maori word made of two parts – ‘Wai’ means water and ‘tomo’ means entrance of hole, and the Waitomo tour as such leads to adrenalin action and selfie-taking stops. The Caves are world renowned for its huge population of glowworms which illuminate the interiors. There is plenty to discover including the free walking tracks and the scenic reserves with gushing rivers and the lush green hills. This is transport only, entry fee not included

This is a private driver tour to the famous Waitomo Glow worm caves. travel by a comfortable vehicle maximum 3 travelers , The drive from Auckland to Waitomo is picturesque landscape which takes approx 2 hours 30 minutes each way, The tour of the caves takes about 1 hour. 5.00We had a fantastic experience! Our driver picked us up from our hotel in Auckland and returned us in the evening. We opted for the Ruakuri Cave walk, which is longer than the Waitomo boat tour. However, our driver was incredibly accommodating! There is a fee if your tour is longer than 6 hours but you are made aware of that well ahead of time. He also would have let us bring our luggage if we needed it. He was a very safe and friendly driver who even stopped along the way so we could grab a coffee. I highly recommend our driver!

5.00It was a great experience! Naveen was our private driver and he made our experience extra special because we originally had planned on booking an excursion that included a The Hobitton Movie Set. He knew how disappointed we were that the tickets for the Hobbiton sold out. He called the place just to see if there was a cancelation and by shear luck they happened to have two tickets! We gave him our credit cards and he purchased the tickets for us. We throughly enjoyed both The gloworm cave and Hobitton Movie Set! Our excursion was only suppose to be for 4 hours but he went out of his way and brought us to both excursions! He is an excellent private driver and deserves so much credit! Thank you Naveen for making our trip so memorable!

5.00Very nice experience. We were picked up with our luggage at our hotel in Auckland in a nice car and the driver brought us to the Waitomo Cave, waited untill we came out, brought is to a cafe & souvenir shop and wited and then brought is back to Auckland and dropped us of at the airport.

5.00We were picked up by Naven at our hotel at 8 with our luggage. The drive to the caves was about 2 1/2 hours. The scenery on the way was amazing. Our tour time was 11:40 so we had some time to visit the shop before our tour. We were escorted to the boats. We soon were viewing the glowworms (which are not worms but larva). It was an amazing sight, but no photos are allowed. We learned about the life cycle of the glowworms. It was pouring when we left the cave. While communicating about this excursion, I had said I wanted to be dropped at the cruise ship no later than 3. We were dropped at the cruise ship a little after 2:30. It was a great way to spend the morning before our cruise. I would book a tour with Naveen again as he was easy to communicate with pre trip and he was very concientious about our time restraints.
