It must have been the Daily Telegraph that a couple of years ago mentioned a reason to visit each Greek island. For Crete, the main reason was the food. Locals couldn't agree more, as 90% of the Greek islands might have unparalleled beauty, but Crete offers the best quality of food on top of that as well. For this reason, a food tour in town would have been the very best idea.

In order to make this tour unique, we have added a visit to a local herbs and products store, (which, among locals, is considered the most secret gem) and also a visit to the best traditional manufacturer of Cretan knives.

In a few words, if someone is in Crete in order to experience its authenticity, this tour is exactly what they need.

Plenty of small (or bigger) snacks are included in this small tour. Cheese, Olives, Bougatsa, Loukoumades, kalitsounia and some other small sized snacks (in the second tour, pita gyros as well).

The local spirit Tsikoudia/Raki is offered

Pita gyros for the afternoon & evening tour ONLY/ In the village we have lunch instead of some of the stops described.

This experience is going to give you the opportunity to taste an abundance of local products, from the greatest Cretan producers. From the classic Raki / Tsikoudia, to Cretan Bougatsa, the local varieties of local Cheese, olives, and even the very best sweets. In order to make this tour unique, we have added a visit to a local herbs and products store, (which, among locals, is considered the most secret gem) and also a visit to the best traditional manufacturer of Cretan knives. We visit both the modern and the old town. We get to see on our way, the Market (which is under reconstruction) the charming narrow streets of the old town and the beauty of the Venetian Port. (this tour is not provided by a licensed guide).

Christos is the best. He made the tour special from start to finish. He was so nice and so pleasant to be with. His car was very nice and clean. If we did this again we would book a whole day with him. He was that great to be with!

What better way to appreciate Crete than with a walking food tour!! Definitely book the lunch tour time and you’ll have the best gyro in all of Greece!! And, who ever heard of Blue Honey? Yummy!!

If you’re scrolling through options of things to do in Chania, this is the one to pick! We had an amazing time, our tour guide was superb and we tried such amazing food. I couldn’t recommend more!

Just finished our food tour with Christos in Chania. Not only did we have amazing food tastings, Christos was knowledgeable, personable and fun. The tour was a great way to start our trip in Chania and now we have the herbs and pistachio butter to prove we were there!
