It must have been the Daily Telegraph that a couple of years ago mentioned a reason to visit each Greek island. For Crete, the main reason was the food. Locals couldn't agree more, as 90% of the Greek islands might have unparalleled beauty, but Crete offers the best quality of food on top of that as well. For this reason, a food tour in town would have been the very best idea.

This experience is going to give you the opportunity to taste an abundance of local products, from the greatest Cretan producers. From the classic Raki / Tsikoudia, to Cretan Bougatsa, the local varieties of local Cheese, olives, and even the very best sweets.

In order to make this tour unique, we have added a visit to a local herbs and products store, (which, among locals, is considered the most secret gem) and also a visit to the best traditional manufacturer of Cretan knives.

In a few words, if someone is in Crete in order to experience its authenticity, this tour is exactly what they need.

Great food tour. My family all really enjoyed it. While it is a walking tour, each stop wasn't too far and made an easy pace for my older family members. The places we visited were very welcoming and my uncle had to get a picture with all the ladies in the store where we tasted honey and other wonderful things!

2.5 hour tour. We visited several spots for typical Cretan food. Christos was great. Very flexible and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the experience

This was a great tour. Our guide took use to a bunch of great food locations as well as showing us around the Old Town. He really knows his stuff about Chania so taking this tour not only gave me the inside track on where to get great food in Chania but also gave me a lot of great context for understanding Chania's history and personality.

Christos went above and beyond on this food tour. He was so generous with his time—the tour ended up lasting longer than scheduled, and we were stuffed by the end. We had an olive oil tasting, the best gyro anyone in my group has ever had, delicious desserts, and more. Additionally, we stopped by a unique store where we had the opportunity to buy incredible dried herbs and teas. All and all, it was lovely and he was so friendly and fun! Thank you!

This was a wonderful experience because Cristos made it so interesting. We listened to his passionate enthusiasm for working with local vendors who also shared his passion for creating delicious food made with local, high-quality ingredients and a desire to share their culture with you. I think our favourite stops were at a cheese & charcuterie vendor and a gyro vendor. The dried herb store is fascinating but we hesitated buying dried herbs because we didn't want to have any complications when returning by air to our home country. Cristos, thank you very much for sharing your love of good food and love for all things Greek!
