Our first stop will be Postblloku (Checkpoint), a powerful memorial to Albania's communist-era isolation. Located on the main boulevard opposite the government building, this site honors the political prisoners who suffered under the oppressive regime

Our tour guide Markel is so patient and kind enough to wait for us! He is also knowledgeable on his job. We learned a lot about the history of Tirana & Albania.

Markel our guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the 2 hour tour very informative about the history and culture of Albania. He was passionate about his country and would not want to live anywhere else he said. My son Harry and I came away knowing so much more of this lovely country.

Our tour guide Gjergj was incredibly knowledgeable, he was friendly and I was impressed at how many languages he spoke and his depth of knowledge. He conducted the tour in both French and English to accommodate us all who were present. I was so impressed how he was able to deliver effectively the historical meaning and information about the places we visited. I left feeling like I know more about Albania and since this was my first visit and first activity I will say it was a great start.
