Forth Road Bridge
If you're looking for a breathtaking experience, consider booking a tour that includes a visit to the Forth Bridges. These three impressive bridges span the Firth of Forth, and are a sight to behold. The Forth Bridge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Scotland's most iconic landmarks. The Forth Road Bridge, opened in 1964 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, is a long-span suspension bridge over 2.5 kilometres in length, with towers over 150 metres high. The Queensferry Crossing, opened in 2017, is the newest of the three and spans the firth with its modern design. Don't miss out on the opportunity to see these engineering marvels up close and appreciate their beauty and significance in Scottish history.
Stirling Castle
Stirling Castle is a magnificent historic fortress perched on a hilltop overlooking the Scottish city of Stirling. With a history dating back to the 12th century, it played a crucial role in Scotland's turbulent past, serving as both a royal residence and a military stronghold. Visitors can explore the castle's opulent interiors, including the Royal Palace and Great Hall, marvel at the stunning views from the castle walls, and learn about the castle's rich history through interactive exhibits and guided tours. Stirling Castle is a must-see destination for anyone interested in Scottish history and architecture. (admission fee around £16.50, not included in the tour price)

Ed is a very knowledgable and courteous guide. We enjoyed spending the day with him and seeing all the sights. Ed was great about customizing our tour so it fit our interests and activity level. We would look to book with him again if we go back to Edinburgh. We highly recommend a private tour with Ed Tours if you are in the Edinburgh area!

We had luck with a virtually wind free and sunny day for the visit in September 2025. There is a complimentary mini-bus trip the half mile to the top, from the restaurant, up a steep hill to the Monument. The views from the base of the monument, on a clear day are stunning. The top, at 67 metres is closed on windy days, so choose carefully, and book the early slots. The narrow spiral staircase takes some navigating. If you dinnae like small spaces, perhaps only visit the first room. Passing other guests going in the other direction on the narrow 246 steps tight spiral stone staircase needs care. There are three experience rooms with loads of information about the monument and the battles fought in the nearby river bend in each.

Ed was timely and set the tour at a good pace. He pointed out landmarks that we would not have otherwise known. He is knowledgeable on his tours, keeps the tour interesting, and gives honest recommendations for sights to see.

This monument to William Wallace was amazing. We quite enjoyed the walk up to the monument. I think to many people miss the experience by taking the shuttle. The climb up was full of surprises, we never realized there were 3 floor before you get to the top. The views are phenomenal once you are up top. The gift shop in the tower was great and I would recommend picking up a wolf Wallace beer for later especially if you walked up, you earned it.

Easy to find and park. We took the bus up to the monument and it was breakfast. Entrance was quick & friendly (as was the bus driver) and whilst I thought I may only make it to the first level (bad knee) I found that they weren’t nearly as bad as I thought and managed it to the top with just a short catch of breath on each level. Yes, it was a bit tight when passing but everyone was really sensible and patient and the views from the top were definitely worth the climb

Our tour guide Ed Silinis was fabulous! He knew the castles inside and out, was engaging and even surprised us when my girls had a special request. I was so happy to see Scotland with his guidance. He also become fed things we needed prior to the trip such as the museum passes and gave helpful travel tips. Seemless and no stress.

Amazing and a once in a lifetime place to visit. The walk up to the monument wasn't hard but steep in some places, there is a shuttle bus that also takes you up and down if you think you might struggle. The inside steps of the monument are very small and a bit claustrophobic, especially when crossing people on the way and down, but it is definitely worth the views when you do make it to the top. The stairs are broken up by different floors, allowing you to catch your breath and gain some historical knowledge whilst you recover.
