Cetaceans in the Azores The Azores are a true oasis when it comes to cetacean observation, being possible to see around 28 different species throughout the year, this represents 1/3 of the world's known cetacean species. Our team is prepared to make it possible to observe these magnificent mammals, with the help of a “Watchman” (a member of our team located on land), located in a high area, where, through long-range binoculars and radio guidance, vessels about the whereabouts of cetaceans. This way we are able to maintain a cetacean sighting rate of over 90%. Sighting Guarantee When observing cetaceans, it is difficult to predict what behavior and species will be possible to see. In this way, water4fun can only guarantee the sighting of at least one specimen of the cetacean order, and it is not possible to predict which or even the family (whales, dolphins, among others). If no specimen of the cetacean order is seen, the customer has the right to reschedule a second attempt, subject to company availability, completely free of charge, or as a last resort, request a full refund.

I recommend 100%! Excellent experience! The team went far beyond our expectations. They did everything to see the whales (we saw 3!!!) and dolphins (which were many!). Of course, we’re talking about free animals and you can’t predict when they’ll be close to the coast, but the team is very prepared and have a colleague who oversees the sea over the Monte Brasil. Guides are very experienced and give valuable information throughout the tour. It is noteworthy that they are passionate about the work and this is confirmed by the quality of the tour.

Friendly, knowledgeable guides. Saw too many dolphins to count, bride whale and humpback whale. Followed humpback whale, seeing her many times. Great experience!!!

Great experience, I recommend! Victor and his staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. We were able to see cachalotes, dolphins and turtles, and the boat trip itself was fantastic.

"Absolutely amazing experience with Water4fun in Terceira! We saw a lot of different dolphins up close. Since I don’t understand much English, I didn’t understand what our very dedicated tour guide told me. Depending on your needs, these whale and dolphin observations could be conducted in German. But it was still a magical experience for me !!!

We had the meeting at 11.15 in the square of the main port of the city. Once the departure time arrived they provided us with the useful equipment for the excursion. Before leaving, the boy, whose name unfortunately I do not remember, introduced us to the types of animals we could meet during the excursion, specifying how the sighting varies from group to group. Despite the unpredictability, their excellent experience and preparation will guarantee you almost 100% to see at least one of the listed species. I would recommend this tour because of the passion and emotion that our guides have been able to transmit to us!

Great guides. Loved the boat as it had rows of 2 so everyone has a good view. Saw dolphins and whales up close. A must do experience.
