Available only from 20 July to 20 November Humpback Whale Watching (3 hours duration) Come and observe these marine mammals that come every year to rest and give birth in the warm waters of Polynesia. You will have the chance to approach cetaceans while respecting the rules of approach in order to observe them without disturbing them. After this meeting we will make you discover the wonderful Moorea lagoon with its incredible richness or very often we meet dolphins in the lagoon or in the passes. We can stop to see the turtles in their natural environment and make a snorkling stop to swim with the pastenague rays and blacktip sharks. LAUNCHING: To swim with whales, it is required to know how to swim well with snorkling equipment, mask, fins and snorkel. Approach rules require us to swim about 150m round trip. NOTES: Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a meeting with a whale during your visit. It is a wild animal in its natural environment in the open sea. 5.00We were lucky to get the last places. French Polynesia is one of the few places in the world where you can - with a little luck - swim with humpback whales. We were lucky that the playful cub swam up to 50cm of us. Stunning! Once in a lifetime! At the end still snorkeled with stingrays and black-tip sharks.
NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE - Use a service that only takes 6 swimmers on their boat

1.00We were a group of 4 - two swimmers and two non-swimmers. Our captain said only 6 swimmers are allowed in the water per boat at a time. We had 9 swimmers on our boat. All the other boats on the water appeared to only have 6 swimmers. While on the boat, we spotted a whale, and our guide and first group of 5 swimmers entered the water and joined the groups from the other boats. Everyone in the first group swam with the whales and had amazing pictures. However, the guide did not immediately take the remaining 4 swimmers into the water. By the time the second group entered the water, the whales were gone. Our group of 4 swimmers swam and followed the guide, but saw no whales. It was such a disappointing trip and a waste of our money. I would highly recommend going with a company that only allows 6 swimmers who all enter the water together.

2.00Communication was not good, and I think a group tour to try to see whales can be really disappointing. I did another private tour, and that is definitely worth the money. A group tour, not so much. When we swam out to the whales and were swimming right above them when they were at the bottom, one guide pointed them out to me. However, when the whales were surfacing, I think they only pointed out to one person that the whales were surfacing, and they seemed to be the only person who got a good look at them. So this is why I thought they were too disorganized.
