  We booked to go to Whitehaven. There was some engine trouble and need for more fuel. Things happen and we ended up being 2 hours later to arrive than scheduled. What was really outstanding was the care and service provided by the staff. They were apologetic and going above and beyond to try and make the experience still enjoyable. And it was. We ended up staying later and as a result had the whole beach to ourselves and watched a beautiful sunset on the ride home. Massive day for the staff but brilliant day for us. Thank you to the staff.

  Toilet not operating before and during trip,food very ordinanary,generally unclean. Very ordinary compared with competitors.

• Whales and whitehaven

  What an incredible experience! The skipper Riley was in total control the whole time and expertly navigated the vessel near whales so we could enjoy watching them breach. Alisha was fantastic at guiding the walk and providing safety briefings. Rodrigo was a master of managing the vessel and setting up lunch on whitehaven. Incredibly grateful to the team. What a wonderful experience.

  This was a terrible experience. The weather ruined it. Winds were 35km + and the waves in the stretch towards Whitehaven Beach were horrific. People were vomiting and very scared. I will NEVER do this again. The staff were unhelpful and didn’t care or warn us

• Great tour and plenty of relaxing beach time

  We had a wonderful relaxing day at the Whitehaven beach yesterday. The staff, especially Facu and Leo where very friendly and accommodating when we asked for a tent as the sun is rather strong during a long day at the beach. There are picknick possibilities in the shade at the beach which are also quite nice but we didn’t know that beforehand. We recommend the day tour with GSL not only because of the staff but it gives you about 4 plus hours at the beach. Enough time to wander to the southern outlook with a great view but also plenty of time to swim and relax at the beach.

  We had an amazing time in Whitesunday Island and snorkeling in the reefs. The staff were friendly, very helpful and it was a perfect day! the kids also loved it!

• Completely misleading

  This tour was advertised as a boat trip to whiteheaven beach where we were to spend relaxing 5 hours, have use of paddle boards and options to rent umbrellas and chairs. The first picture suggested how the set up and paddle boards will look. Upon arrival to the meeting point in the morning we were told that “everyone else on the tour” actually wants to go snorkeling so we will do 1 hour snorkeling and then 3 hours on the beach. Not what we booked but 3 hours on the beach would give us enough time to relax so we said fine. After 2 hours on an old, loud boat that broke down for few mins on the way we arrived on the beach but there were no umbrellas or chairs to rent and they put down 2 half inflated paddle boards WITHOUT fins and half of 2 paddles for the whole group. When I asked if they have fins or the second half of the paddle so we could actually use it they said no! So the paddle boards were basically unusable other than taking a picture on it. We could see that the set setup they advertised as their main picture was far down the beach and not part of this tour which felt like a complete fraud. After 1 hour and 50 mins they told us to pack and leave for the snorkeling spot. When I asked if we were coming back to the beach (to complete the 3 hours of beach time they told us in the morning we were getting) they said no. So it went from a 5 hour beach trip to 3 hours to an actual 1 hour 50 mins of beach time! Since they didn’t told us that up front and we were under the impression we still had another hour we didn’t even get to do the little hike we planned. We went snorkeling for 1 hour which was nice but not what we booked. We were very disappointed and felt like we were completely misled. To top it off they were so dismissive that they actually asked for a 5 star TripAdvisor review. Truly unbelievable. They have a LOT to learn about how to run a successful business from the other companies at Airlie beach which were professional, fun and didn’t mislead and bluntly lied to their customers!

  The island was beautiful and the water and reef were amazing. The day was poorly run though through GSL. They had nothing organised properly the buffet lunch was not worth the money, no paddle boarding, we only had 10 at the most on the reef saying we had to leave early after we heard them say they were low on fuel. They had no moorings booked either. Very disappointing. We will be going back but not through GSL not worth the money would prefer to pay extra..
