This is a must do tour whether you are a novice or a wine connoisseur . Our guide Alejandra took us on a trip to another universe into the underground of a wine cellar, filled with large wooden vats, directing us along the sometimes dark spaces, explaining the details of the process from former to present time with clarity and passion. There was no question that she could not answer which demonstrated not only her knowledge about the topic, but her love for it. The tour ended in a beautifully decorated restaurant with the tasting of a variety of wines paired with a light lunch. This is not just a tour to a winery, it is a tour into history.

It was a wonderful experience, in a family and super-traditional winery around Montevideo! I'd do it a thousand times again! Today is my birthday and I have had all the affection and special attention! Everyone at the winery sang congratulations and wished me good luck. It was a day of many good wines and unforgettable

A really interesting and informative day guided by Miguel. Our trip was a great way for us to learn about wine production in Montevideo. We visited Santa Rosa Bodega a family run winery. The staff and explanation of the process were very good. We had a tasting at the end with cold meats and cheeses all very good. Also Ryan who was our original point of contact was good with all communication before visit.

We loved this winery…such quality Tannat wines! Miguel was an excellent driver and very knowledgeable guide. Tasting was accompanied by a wonderful selection of bites. Highly recommend, especially if you want to experience some unique wines.

In addition to the vineyard tour and wine tasting we were treated to some folk dancing and grape stomping. This marked the harvest season. Meal was provided - cheese, salami appetizer followed by platters of delicious grilled meat. It was a feast!

We had an exceptional time visiting a small family run winery just about 45 min outside of Montevideo with our excellent guide, Miguel. The wines served were all excellent but the standouts to us were the Alta Gama Tannat and the Tannat/Tempranillo blend. We highly recommend this tour.
