During your personal tasting experience I will guide you through the distinctive world of Bulgarian wines. Although Bulgaria has been producing wine for 5000 years it is still relatively unknown to the rest of the world. Now a rising new generation of Bulgarian boutique winemakers are devoted to the craft and bringing new attention to our country.
You will taste 5 wine varieties of local grapes unique to Bulgaria, that can not be found anywhere else: Miskets, Melnik, Mavrud, Gumza and Rubin. Plus, local cheeses, artisanal bread and mineral water.
The tasting is held in one of the best boutique wine shops in Sofia – Tempus Vini, which is located on an artsy street in the city center, known for its fine restaurants and boutiques. And just a few streets away from Sofia’s main pedestrian boulevard.
During the tasting I can tell you about the wine regions of Bulgaria including the history and the wine culture of my beautiful country.
All tastings are held in English or Bulgarian

In case in bigger groups wine tasting will be held in bigger,special equiped with multimedia hall,very close to the shop.

5.00Kalin outlines the history of wine production in Bulgaria from anicent times up to present day. Wine production is like the history of this country with various rulers affecting wine production. We tasted 5 different wines, including orange and natural wines. All the wines tasted we're using native grape vararties and from small producers, even some that Kalin made himself. All very good.Wines were accompanied with local cheeses. A very enjoyable evening and even brought a few bottles to bring home. If you have any interest in trying wines from Bulgaria when in Sofia you must do this experience. Thank you Kalin

5.00The wine tasting was very nice. It's a tasting at the vinotheque. There were a total of 4 participants. The host talks enthusiastically about the (history of) Bulgarian wine. Even more beautiful we found the introduction to wines unknown to us. Very, very nice. In addition to the wine, you will be introduced to a number of Bulgarian cheeses. Recommended!

5.00Very intimate setting in a quiet shop. Very informative about Bulgarian wine Regions and grape varieties. Their own wines made traditionally packed flavour. Lots of explanation about wine making and cheeses.

5.00We enjoyed the tasting session very much. Wines presented was mostly made for the shop, so they surely know what they are doing :). Entising selection of wines and new informations about bulgarian history of wine. This is also the first time we are introduced to the orage wine, very interesting! Took home a pair of wines with us. Hopefully it will be as good as when we tasted them. But perhaps less, while we do not bring home those delicous cheeses, which also presented during the tasting! :( Thank you for the hospitality! :)

5.00Kalin was very knowledgeable about Bulgarian wines. He shared his knowledge of the regional differences along with samples of the wines from various regions. The samples included wines that he is making himself in small batches, which was a unique touch.
