On this fat bike trip, you will get to enjoy nature and views around Ivalo village. Warm up next to an open fire while having your lunch.

Riding a fat bike is super fun and you can ride it during any season!

Schedule and directions:

We start at 10:00 from Eräsoppi / Xwander shop (address Ivalontie 12). Please be at the shop latest at 9:45, so we have time for necessary preparations.

The total duration of the trip is around 2 h. We return to the shop between 12 and 13:00.

We have a pick up service for Inari, Nellim, Saariselkä and Kiilopää areas. Contact us ahead to book a transfer.

Please note

This activity is run every Wednesday in November-April

The trip is executed with a minimum of 2 participants.

Welcome to spend a fun day out cycling! The cycling trail goes trough the village, near by forests, Ivalo river and it's old riverbeds which locals call ‘vuopaja’. From our ready made tracks we can see some history of the village and how it developed around Ivalo river. We see infrastructure how village survives flood periods and how locals move around the village area. We will have a nice break in between and enjoy a warm lunch by an open fire, before continuing our trip.

My husband and I did our first fatbike tour and we really enjoyed it! ❄️ Even though it was very cold (–20°C), the shop provided us with warm clothing, so everything was perfectly fine in the end. The tour led us through a wonderful forest, and it was such a unique experience. Thank you very much, Quentin! 🙌

Jonas took us for a great fatbiking experience that goes beyond fatbiking itself. He really conveyed his love for nature when showing us around these breathtaking landscapes. While biking he is able to spot animal tracks, as well as provide info on different kinds of wildlife in the area. I highly recommend doing this activity in Lapland!

Amazing experience! Our guide was careful to prepare us for the freezing cold, adapted to our desires and pace, gave us delicious hot juice and guided us through the village in the best possible way. We will never forget this day! Thank you :)

Excursion in development. A fun way to cycle through the village and its surroundings with an enthusiastic guide. Easy to do with MTB. E-Bike is not necessary. 2 Hours might be a bit short. Not very challenging for experienced cyclists.

We did a very nice fatbike tour around Ivalo. Great bikes and our sympathetic guide adjusted the tour to group skills. So we ride across a frozen lake and had some nice trails offside the bicycle road. Also enjoyed some sweets and warm tea during a short break.
