A unique experience where in total darkness you will feel on your own skin what it is like to be blind. You will experience everyday situations using all your senses except sight. You will be accompanied by a blind guide who will answer all your questions. It is a great lesson in empathy and an unforgettable experience that paradoxically opens your eyes.

WOMAI in Kraków and the “Into the Dark” exhibition is an experience that truly stays with you for a long time. A huge part of that is thanks to the guide, Piotr – a blind person who shares his experiences with honesty and openness. He tells us what his everyday life is like without the sense of sight and about the challenges he faces. He is direct and very friendly. I highly recommend this exhibition.

Interesting and educating experience. Martyna made us feels safe in the darkness and guided us well. Very professional. There were only 2 of us which made it likely better experience than with a larger group (of strangers).

I had an absolutely incredible experience learning about blindness, and it truly exceeded all my expectations. The entire session was eye-opening (in the most meaningful way), offering deep insight into the daily realities, challenges, and strengths of people living with visual impairments. A huge part of what made this experience so impactful was our guide, Martyna. She was outstanding—knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about what she was sharing. Her ability to explain complex topics in such a clear and engaging way made everything easy to understand, while her warmth and openness created a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for everyone.

I would highly recommend visiting Womai to anyone visiting Krakow. I am coming from today’s visit with very positive impressions. Our guide, Patricia, used interaction and real life experiences to encourage us to think and truly activate our senses of hearing, smell, touch as well as our sense of spatial orientation. It was a wonderful experience. I am already looking forward to visiting Womai again and explore other exhibitions.

I attended the event “Sensory Path – Toward Darkness,” guided by Konrad Sokół. It was an amazing experience, though also a bit painful for me personally. I’m fully able-bodied, and after entering the “maze”/path, I felt a sense of guilt that I am able-bodied while others are not. It’s worth taking part in this event to shift your perspective on the world—even if only for a moment—by switching off one sense that could be considered the main one: sight. The world changes dramatically then, but if you stay attentive and follow the guide’s instructions (in my case, Konrad Sokół’s), your other senses become sharper. It’s a very interesting initiative that shows that even if someone differs from an undefined “norm,” everyone is fully capable in their own way. I hope my review doesn’t offend anyone—that was not my intention.
