The secrets to authentic Thai cooking, will be discovered in this small group cooking class, under the tuition of the professional Thai chef Ya. The Krabi Thai cookery course will introduce you, in theory and in practice, to the ingredients and dishes of classic Thai cuisine. From typical Thai fruits and vegetables, to the preparation of spicy Thai salads.

Choosing fresh ingredients is how you will start your class at Ya's Thai Cookery School in Ao Nang. You will discover the secrets behind cooking the perfect Thai meal as you combine rich colors, unique flavors and fragrant spices with delicious fresh produce. You will get a feel for authentic Thai culture through the preparation of authentic Thai cuisine. Learn the art of balancing flavors and cooking complete dishes from scratch, with traditional utensils and techniques. The preparation of curry paste is one of the most unique and important aspects of Thai cooking, and you will learn about herbs and spices as you grind then together in a stone mortar. Some of the menu items you may be cooking include: Curry Paste, Massaman Curry, Red Curry Chicken, Spicy Prawn Soup, Chicken Mint Salad, Pad Thai, Stir Fried Chicken & Cashew Nut, Stir fried sweet & sour, Fried Rice with Chicken or Vegetable. Your class ends with you enjoying the Thai specialties that you have spent the day preparing. Return home with your new culinary skills in stir-frying, making curries, Thai soups and salads, that will impress your friends and family.

5.00We were picked up from the hotel, arrived we were a group of 8 people and another group was at the other table. Everyone cooked 3 dishes and could choose between different ones. In the end, everyone ate their own dishes, leftovers could be taken away. The food was all very delicious and authentic, at the end there was a recipe book. It was fun:)

5.00This cooking school was good because there were several choices of curry, soup & salad and stir-fry, each of which participants could choose the dish they wanted to make. By making different dishes for each participant, you can see and learn how to make other dishes. The dishes we make are quite hearty - spring rolls, curry, soups & salads, stir-fry and mango sticky rice - so we recommend that you come hungry. I attended the afternoon class, but the evening class seemed to have a lot of participants, so if you want to be taught slowly, the afternoon class is better. Cleaning is also thorough, hygiene is no problem at all, but since it is open air, you should bring mosquito repellent if you are concerned I was also able to get picked up and dropped off at an additional cost outside the Ao Nang area.

5.00We had a very positive experience at this cooking course. Came with our adolescent who was well helped where necessary. Small club, plenty of guidance and tasty dishes. Nice experience, good food and home with a recipe book. Recommended!

5.00Excellent experience. We were able to cook a significant number of dishes, really participate in each step and understand how to reproduce these recipes at home. We then ate all our small dishes, so hearty that we left with “doggy bags”. A very good value for money, and a very good atmosphere!

5.00Fun and informative introduction to Thai cooking. You will prepare plenty of food that you will eat so don’t fill up on the first dish! Each participant creates their own dishes so everyone gets what they want.

5.00My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this cooking class. They picked us up from the hotel on time and even made sure we were back in time for another activity we had planned. There were some other people there, including children aged between about 8 upwards - 7 of us in total. The ladies at the cooking school were very organised and helpful, giving us plenty of options and explaining the dishes as required. They had excellent knowledge of the ingredients and were able to share this competently in English. The ladies were very kind and friendly, helping us to adapt our dishes to suit our tastes (e.g. mild or hot spice). We were not rushed, given time to eat our dishes and also provided with bags to take what we could not manage away. We were even given a little recipe book to take home. We really enjoyed it and would strongly recommended to anyone who wants to learn how to cook some delicious Thai dishes. Thank you

5.00We really enjoyed the class! We made many different dishes and learned a lot. They can also adapt almost every dish into a vegetarian version which was much appreciated! The class is quite high tempo but you get a recipe book afterwards. One small detail: the recipes in the book are always the non-veggie variant, so it would have been nice to get the book at the start of the class to be able to make some adaptations 😇
