Upon arrival in Kyzart village, you'll meet your horse guides – one local Russian-speaking guide who will manage your luggage, and another English-speaking guide dedicated to ensuring a memorable and safe experience. After enjoying a delicious lunch prepared by a local Kyrgyz family, your horseback riding tour commences. The afternoon will be spent on horseback, riding for approximately 4 hours towards the beautiful Kilemche. The route is a visual treat, offering stunning mountainous landscapes that promise to be both exhilarating and serene.
As evening approaches, you'll reach Kilemche, marking the end of the day's ride. Here, you will be hosted in a traditional shepherd's house, offering a unique insight into local life. Descending from the pass, your path then winds along the lake's shore, passing by Tuz Ashuu Pass. The final day of your journey begins with a hearty breakfast at the yurt camp, fueling up for the day's adventures. After breakfast, you'll saddle up once more to continue your horseback exploration around Son Kol Lake. The day's highlight is crossing the Kara-Kiya Pass, perched at an altitude of 3400 meters. This segment of the ride offers spectacular views and a sense of accomplishment as you traverse the high pass. Following this, you'll begin your descent towards Kyzart village, the starting point of your horseback excursion, completing the loop of your memorable journey.
Kyzart
Upon arrival at Kyzart, you'll be welcomed at a local guest house run by a Kyrgyz family. Here, you will be treated to a delicious lunch, showcasing more of the region's traditional cuisine. Enjoy some time to rest and reflect on your journey in the comfort of the guest house. This pause also allows you to prepare for the next leg of your return trip – a comfortable car ride back to the hustle and bustle of Bishkek.
Bishkek
Your journey concludes with a 5-hour drive back to Bishkek. This time in the car offers a chance to relax and reminisce about the adventures and sights experienced over the past three days. Upon arriving in Bishkek, our driver will ensure your safe and convenient drop-off at your hotel. 5.00We had an excellent 2 days horse trekking trip! Planning was seamless with Datka! The driver who fetched us from the city was super vibe! The hostess family in the village was kind, friendly and provided us a hospitable welcome! Of course the main reason was the horse trekking! We opted for a personal tour, just me and my friend, and a guide who followed us through the 3-4 hours horse trekking journey for day one. We reached our Yurt at Song Kul village and had great pilaf! Made friends from another group who was also based at the yurt stay. The view was amazing in winter! Cold but it was out of this world. I would do it again! If you are reading this review, just book it!
No Kyrgyzstan Trip is complete without a Horse Trek!

5.00It was absolutely breathtaking! There's no better place to do a horse trek than Kyrgyzstan. Talgat was incredibly professional and facilitated the whole process super smoothly. Our instructor, Molran was a gem of a person and genuinely looked out for us! I would 100% recommend this to anyone who wishes to go to Kyrgyzstan.

5.00The horse trek was an amazing experience! I was picked up at my hostel in Bishkek, and met 3 other travellers that were in my group for the trek. We had lunch, and then the horses arrived to take off. Make sure that you bring all the stuff that you need for the 3 day trek. There was a small miscommunication about that with our group, so two girls ended up having none of their bags. The horses are very sweet and easy to ride, even suitable for beginners. The track is also quite easy, a lot of walking and only a few minutes of galloping at the end of the day on certain areas. The last day descent is very very steep, and was a bit scary at times. The yurts were nice and we were very well fed throughout the whole tour. It’s very cold tho, so pack warm clothes! You have quite some free time on day two at the lake, which was very nice.

5.00Dakta travel provided a great experience and service. Very responsive to queries in the run up to the trek via WhatsApp. Gigi was an excellent host at Saddle Base, and Hannant was a very capable and reassuring guide. Slight glitch on night 1 when the planned yurt camp turned out to be closed, but this was resolved by the guide and we were quickly relocated. The yurt camp on the second night at Son Kul was outstanding - lovely family - can’t find the name of the camp but it’s the one where the son used to be a science teacher in Kyzart… Taxi driver back to Bishkek needed a nudge to slow down (but responded as requested..)

We missed a bit of the structure from the guides: time of breakfast, time when we start the rides and so on, suggestions on activities in free time but we still had an amazing time! The organizers of the tour were very helpful and responsive!

5.00The horse trek to Song Kul was the highlight of my time in Kyrgyzstan. It’s an incredible adventure and it’s something unlike anything I had ever done before. It was my first time riding a horse, but my guide Murat was a great teacher and I picked it up quickly. Crossing the mountain path on horseback is such an unreal experience, it’s hard to put it into words. It is physically demanding in a way that’s different from other activities, my body ached in places it never had before. The yurts at the lake are quite bare bones, just a small place to sleep and some ovens for heat. The family that took us in were very hospitable and kind. It was a great way to meet other travelers as well. Highly recommend this trek.
