5.00WE went to visit the rice field with Arief Aulia as guide. It was a fantastic trip through the ricefields with excellent guidance by Arief (Aulion). We certainly recommend this excursion off the beaten track breathing pure air for a few hours.

5.00We loved this trip! First seeing Borobudur and after that going to a smaller shrine surrounded by rice fields, away from all the other tourists. This was perfect for us. Wahyu was the perfect guide for us, he made sure we had everything we needed and is very funny. I highly recommend this trip!

5.00We had a truly splendid day with Kin! We couldn't have imagined a better tour or a better guide. Kin kept us entertained and shared so much knowledge with us throughout the day. His English was excellent, and we felt comfortable asking him anything. The tour was wonderfully informative and took us off the beaten track, with only a few other tourists along the way. We walked right through the middle of the rice fields, learned a lot, and laughed even more — it was such great fun for the whole family. Kin also introduced us to Indonesian cuisine, bought cassava prepared in different ways for us to try, and took us to his favorite restaurant to finish the trip. It was a day we’ll remember as a family for a very long time. We can wholeheartedly recommend a tour with Kin to anyone visiting Yogyakarta. Terima kasih!

5.00This little trip was such a fantastic and relaxed experience! To get off the beaten trek and into the rice terraces was just beautiful, even in the rain! It was a really relaxed walk to the little temple and on the way back we stopped to have some locally grown coffee - delicious. The views on this walk were stunning and the best thing really was there were only a handful of other tourists towards the end of the walk. My guide Atok was super-friendly and knowledgeable, it felt like hiking with an old friend! I highly recommend this little day trip, especially if you want to get out of the city and want to learn more about rural Java.

5.00We did the Selogriyo temple and rice fields day trip in August with Atok, who was an excellent, professional, and super friendly guide. We got a lot of useful explanations about the rice fiends and also got to taste good coffee up the hill after the visit to the temple! This experience was a true joy and recommend to anyone, it's off the beaten track and not touristic so you get an authentic feel of Java and Indonesia.

5.00Selogriyo rice terrace became one of the most memorable experience during our Java trip (after Mt. Bromo). This area and villages are still untouched and preserved as it was hundreds of years ago, something you don’t find in Bali or other touristic areas anymore. You will see local people farming and working with their water buffalos, seedling their rice and being present. I truly recommend our guide, Haidar, who was born and raised in that area and shared his memories, knowledge and love of that nature and each of every plant. If you are in Yogyakarta to see the temples, dedicate a day to visit this area as well! Don’t miss it!
