Located just 90 minutes from Dakar, the Bandia Wildlife Reserve is a true ecological crown jewel of Senegal. The reserve has successfully reintroduced a stunning array of native flora and many of Africa’s most iconic animals—species that had previously vanished due to poaching and habitat loss.
You’ll encounter white rhinoceros, zebras, giraffes, buffalo, and a vast array of antelopes—from the majestic giant eland to the rare damas gazelle. The reserve is also home to monkeys, crocodiles, ostriches, and over 120 bird species.

Reserve De Bandia
Bandia lies 65km from Dakar and 15km from Saly-Portugal. This natural reserve not far from Dakar is rich in lots of variety of wild animal such as rhinoceros , giraffes, buffaloes, ostriches, jackals, monkeys and a variety of antelope. A little Safari in the reserve of Bandia takes you back into the wild world of Eastern Africa. There are also some interesting serere burial mounds and a baobab tree where griots were once interred.

5.00We built together a 4-day tour that reflected our desires and met our needs. Driver and private escort were kind, punctual and attentive. The only drawback, there was no possibility of a visit in Italian, but I acted as an interpreter for the family

5.00We have traveled to more than 100 countries, and rarely—if ever—have we met a travel agent and guide as outstanding as Pape. We traveled with him and his driver for 12 days in Senegal and The Gambia and have just returned. “Business” with Pape ends the moment you co-design the route of your trip, before you arrive in Senegal. From the moment you land, he becomes a trustworthy friend—someone who speaks perfect English and French, takes care of every detail, and even welcomes you into his family home for dinner. So was his driver Dudu. Strongly recommended

3.00Our guide met us at the port as promised. He had a taxi waiting for the three of us that drove us 90min to Bandia Reserve. We had another guide there and a private truck. The seats in the private trucks face inward instead of forward. This means you must twist around to see and photograph. It was uncomfortable at best. We did see many animals, however. After a thirty minute tour of Bandia we returned back to Dakar. Our guide was sweet and informative. He made a special stop for us on our way back to the ship. I would recommend the tour if it were not so expensive. The tour is overpriced.

5.00I had a wonderful tour today with Eric to the Bandia Reserve. Eric was highly informative and educated me about his lovely country. Ibrahim was the driver and he was courteous and polite. The Bandia Reserve was a large Reserve where various animals such as zebras and giraffes roam free. We drove through the city of Dakar, so I received a panoramic view as well. Overall, I would most assuredly recommend Eric as a private tour guide!

5.00Eric was an amazing guide! I highly recommend him, as he was super friendly and great company on our excursion to Bandia Reserve. I recommend that you reach out to him first before booking as he offers highly customizable experiences that will meet your needs and wants during your visit to Dakar. One of many highlights was after tasting the monkey bread fruit from the Baobab tree, on our way back he purchased us a bottle of the juice. I wish we had more time to take in the rest of the city and surrounding area with him, as he was able to tell us a out each building as we drove through the city to the reserve. Thank you Eric for providing us a wonderful excursion!

5.00After being out in a remote village for a week helping to build a school we only had time to book one outing before we had to fly home the next day. Grandma, son and grandson 12 years old who marveled at the experience, with lots of "WOW'S" Eric provides a no-hassle, safe and entertaining tour service. We were met at our hotel right on schedule to go the Reserve de Bandia in a large 4x4 vehicle with plenty of room for daypacks and cameras. A quick stop along the way so he could purchase us large bottled waters AND a bottle of Baoboa juice because he said we just had to try it. He was right -it was tasty and refreshing on such a hot day, for sure. Nice touch, Eric! Upon entering the reserve we met up with our guide to take us through the reserve who was pleasant, funny and knowledgeable about the animals and history of the reserve. He shared some exciting stores about a particular Baobob tree in the reserve, which I won't spoil - you'll have to go there to find out! We drove on the dirt roads and came across many giraffes right on the side of the road and sometimes in the road. It was truly beautiful to see such gorgeous and healthy animals munching on the trees and underbrush like nature intended, unlike in zoos. We saw zebras, monkeys, ostrich, rhino's, crocs, warthog and so much more. There was plenty of time to take pictures and we never felt rushed. We would only move on when they knew we were ready. After the tour we had generous samples of several varieties of local fruit liquors and bought a few to bring home at a reasonable price. We were driven back to our hotel, also right on schedule. We highly recommend this tour service. They give very individual and personalized service and we are so happy we picked this as our one outing! Thank you Eric
