  We went on a colder day, and there were hardly any animals out. Particularly sad were the endangered dogs in a small enclosure; you could see the worn path and one pacing restlessly while another played on top of a metal box. Not nearly enough space for tj yo run, stretch their legs, or lay in the sun. It’s a small zoo, with not a lot to see, but we had a full section left when staff approached us and told us that we’d have to leave because they had decided to close early due to colder weather and a lack of people coming in. We weren’t allowed to finish, they escorted us to the exit, where we promptly requested a refund. Absolutely terribly way to treat paying guests.

  Husband and I took our 1 year old daughter and it was a total blast! We got there around 11am and left around 3pm due to rain but we still have quite a bit to experience for when we go back! For it to have been a Saturday the crowd was way more manageable than we thought it would be which was a very nice surprise! We had the pizza from Africa and it was delicious. It was our first visit with an annual pass and it was extremely easy to get a physical card and add members.

  A year ago I purchased the "pay for a day, get the rest of 2025 free" ticket for me and my 2 year old son. We have been driving to Tampa multiple times a month to visit and my son has a blast every time. He loves seeing all the animals! He has recently grown tall enough to ride the banana ride in the Australian section which has become a favorite. During summer he loves the splash pad (so make sure to pack a swimsuit for the little ones). He is obsessed with dinosaurs and was so excited when the dinosaur exhibit was going on (even if he pretended to be scared of the t-rex) We are looking forward to purchasing full membership passes for 2026 and continuing to support this zoo and the animals they care for!

  It was a lot of walking but the animals were amazing seeing the tortoises was cool and petting the llama was fun . The orangutans were the most interesting.

  Pricey but worth it. Well kept zoo with knowledgeable and helpful staff. We rented a scooter because my husband is handicapped. It was $42 for the day and was in good condition. Staff was sensitive to his needs and helped to get him in and off the truck that provided a tour. It took us four hours to explore the animals. It would take longer if we had done the rides. Great place to take kids. Why? They will see animals, interact with some, and get to ride rides. Staff was patient with school groups we saw. Our goal was to see the shoe billed stork. Amazing bird that sounds like a machine gun firing! There are only five or six in this country and Zoo Tampa had this amazing dinosaur looking bird. Animals were well cared for and looked healthy. Hats off to the volunteers and paid workers who were pleasant and willing to share their knowledge..

  This was our first time at Zoo Tampa & we loved it!! The weather was beautiful so most of the animals were awake & walking around. We even got a video of one of the monkeys playing with a sheet - that was fun! It’s a beautiful zoo, lots of shady areas & places to sit. Easy walking!   So many uniques animals here. Lots of walking- wear sunblock. Call ahead to see if any areas are closed

  My kids (ages 2 and 4) loved this place—and so did I! We were there from 10 to close and still didn’t see everything. The animals were incredible, and we did the clouded leopard add-on—the girls were beside themselves getting to help train a leopard! Lunch at the Africa Safari restaurant was decent, and I was so happy to actually find a salad option instead of just hamburgers and hot dogs. There are full bars throughout the park and plenty of kids’ rides too. The best part? Your ticket gets you admission for the entire year! On top of that, it’s amazing to hear about the conservation projects they run with other zoos. This place is a true joy. A++

  I stopped here one afternoon. It’s pretty expensive to get in. ($50). The Shoebill storms were a great thing to see. The manatee rescue area is pretty awesome and I Hope some of my money goes to that. It’s a nice zoo.   Very nice zoo. Lots of animals from around the world. Should be even better in 2026 with a few new exhibits going in. The front food court was ok.
