We start the tour with a short funicular ride. The Polybahn takes us up from Central to the panorama terrace in front of the main building of the Federal Institute of Technology in just three minutes. Here you will enjoy superb views of the city and you will learn interesting facts about ETH, education, science, and innovation in Switzerland.

5.00Be prepared for some walking though nothing too strenuous. There are plenty of stops along the way to take a break if you need to or to grab some water. Vasi, our guide, was funny and shared a lot of information about Switzerland which we found quite interesting. Though he shared plenty of historical /typical tour type info, he also shared many details to show how Switzerland is different than any other country in the world. This is the information we enjoyed learning the most. The tour included many modes of transportation : cable car, boat, trams and buses. So much variety. We were able to do so much in the day we had. If you're short on time, and don't mind a little easy walking. I highly recommend this tour and Vasi.

5.00We toured with Greg…there are two. Our Greg was Greek and a certified mountaineer. You should know that this tour has you walking briskly, with purpose, and includes sections that are uphill, downhill, and includes stairs. That said, both the tour itself and Greg as the guide were outstanding. He went out of way, often, to answer any question you could think. He is intelligent, knowledgeable and you can tell he really wants you to depart knowing a LOT more than when you started. Top notch. Well done. Thank you.

4.00We covered a lot of territory and felt like we learned a great deal. Our guide was enthusiastic and easy to understand. She was prepared with additional photos and information on her iPad. The only thing that we were unprepared for was the amount of uphill walking and tight timeframes for catching multiple forms of transportation. The tour involved a bus, a train, a ferry boat, a cable car and a funicular. You need to be fit enough to keep up.
