5.00We had a magical time with Joe on his wine & Maori culture tour! His extensive & deeply interesting knowledge of Maori culture was delivered in a detailed but playful way which our group immediately fell in love with. Joe's deep love for his land, culture & what he does is clear. The wineries he chose for our visit was beautiful & we all had a wonderfully relaxing & fun time at both. We were also so privileged to experience a Maori welcome from Joe on the first night of our visit to Lake Hawea/Wanaka - Wow! What an experience, highly recommend

5.00This tour was recommended to us and we loved it! We did the Express wine tasting with Māori history and wished we had done the full day tour! Joe is very knowledgeable and engaging, explaining to us the Māori history with a focus on the South Island. We were a group of 6 people, perfect size for this experience. We did wine tasting at Aitken’s Folly, a smaller winery with wonderful wines, and Rippon, a bigger and more stablished winery in the area. We had a wonderful experience and couldn’t recommend it enough! Thank you for the wonderful time Joe

5.00Joe’s cultural tour was incredibly informative and interesting. He was generous and genuine in providing cultural insights and history. Joe’s welcome was beautiful and made us feel embraced by the Māori communities. The winery trips were varied and interesting. Highly recommend this experience.

5.00My wife and I really enjoyed this tour. We specifically booked it to learn more about the Maori culture as well as the wines of the region. Joe was an amazing host and shared lots of insights into Maori culture including a traditional ceremonial greeting. The wine tastings were lovely as well. We would recommend this experience to our family and friends.
Those interested in local wines and Maori history and culture should definitely participate!

5.00We chose this wine culture because we wanted to learn more about the Maori and their culture. And our choice was perfect. Joe received us like friends. In addition to English (as a translation), we were welcomed on Maori with a small, warm ceremony. During the journey there was much information about the history and customs of the Maori. That was important to us - it fully met expectations and touched us. At the two wineries visited, Joe and we were greeted friendly. We had plenty of time to taste a wide variety of wines, buy our favourites and learn a lot about wine growing here in the region. We are moving this fantastic time with full score and thank Joe once again.

5.00My partner and I had an unforgettable day wine tasting with Joe, who was an exceptional host from start to finish. He took us to two beautiful wineries, but what truly set the experience apart was Joe’s deep knowledge of the area and his sharing of Māori culture and history, which added so much meaning to the day. Joe is warm, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable, making the experience feel personal rather than just another wine tour. This was one of the highlights of our trip. We had searched throughout the South Island for an experience that genuinely incorporated Māori culture and history and struggled to find one, so we were absolutely thrilled to discover this tour. We cannot recommend Joe and this experience highly enough. Thanks again Joe!

5.00Joe was a wonderful guide with plenty of great insights into the Māori culture and the land around Wanaka and Dunedin! We especially enjoyed the personalised wine tasting at Nanny Goat beside the vineyard.
