Access to Montserrat is usually via the Aeri (cable car). In case of closure due to weather, technical reasons, or ticket unavailability, it will be replaced by the cog-wheel train.

If you choose the hiking option, after visiting the Montserrat Monastery and the famous Black Madonna, your guide will take you on a scenic walk to a beautiful viewpoint located about 25 minutes from the monastery. This gentle hike is suitable for most fitness levels and offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. After enjoying the view, we will return to the monastery area and have some sandwiches on the train back to Barcelona.

We’ll begin our journey at Plaça d’Espanya, where we’ll board a train bound for Montserrat. As we ride through the picturesque Catalan countryside, take in the sweeping views of rolling hills, charming towns, and lush landscapes. The train offers a comfortable and scenic ride, setting the tone for the day ahead. Soon, we’ll arrive at Monistrol de Montserrat, a quaint village nestled at the foot of the iconic mountain. Aeri de Montserrat
