You'll arrive at Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Once there, you'll take a short journey through the volcanic, moss-laden fields of the park. Here, you will listen as your friendly and experienced PADI Divemaster guide.
Later, you'll receive all of the necessary equipment for snorkeling in Silfra, including neoprene hoods and gloves, a thermal drysuit, snorkel and fins. The equipment will keep you buoyant throughout your time in the fissure, as well as offering a protection against the water.
Once in the water, your eyes will meet the incredible shades of blue so prevalent in the fissure, as well as the natural under-water flora canyon walls. As you are swimming you will have the opportunity to swim across continents, as you will be switching back and forth from the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. After the tour GoPRO pictures will be sent to you by email for free.

Be comfortable in water and be able to swim.
Communicate in English at the time of the tour.
Be physically fit.
You must be prepared to wear a dry suit (tight at the neck) to protect against cold water; please note that slight water leakage around the neck and sleeves area may happen, and that is considered normal.
You must be a minimum of 135 cm and a maximum of 200 cm in height and weigh between 30 and 140 kilos along with being physically fit.
You must be a maximum of 69 years of age to participate in this tour. If you are over 60 years of age, you need a medical waiver, available on page 2 of the Medical Statement.
You must be a minimum of 12 years of age to participate in this tour. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian booked on the same tour.
If you are over 45 and partake/have partaken in pipe smoking or heavy alcohol intake, you need a medical waiver.
Please note that should you have any neurological, circulatory or respiratory problems or underlying diseases, battled any illnesses or have any physical problems you might have to turn in a physicians allowance to participate in this tour.
This is a self drive tour, you need your own car to arrive to the meeting point, please note there are no public buses to reach the location.
Standard snorkel masks don’t fit over glasses. We recommend bringing contact lenses for the best experience.
Silfra gets very busy in summer. That's why we recommend booking our earliest morning or late afternoon tours.

5.00My daughter and I did the snorkel tour yesterday and were blessed with sunny weather which made the colours vibrant! Our guide Jan was well organised, fun and very helpful. We really enjoyed our experience. It is cold on your face and hands but you get used to it and the dry suits certainly kept us dry. It’s a novel thing to do and the glacier water is super clear, as promised, but really you’re looking at lava tumbles and feathery green weed. It’s a long waiting process to get in and the gear is cumbersome but it’s a once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommended. We are glad we did it.

5.00We had such an incredible morning snorkeling with Troll.is! The team is extremely professional and knowledgeable, and made the experience seamless! Our guide Jan was funny and kind! We also got a link to his GoPro photos he took of us during the excursion which was such a great free perk! Would definitely recommend this to everyone! We were honestly a bit hesitant because of the cold water but they gave us so much gear that the frigid water wasn't even a big deal!

3.00One can’t deny that snorkeling between two tectonic plates is super cool. We were very well bundled up to protect us from the frigid waters, but found after getting into the water, our gloves nor head covering were not waterproof. They need to invest $$$ in getting those. The pins and needles in my fingers became too much. Our guide also did a poor job at managing the teenager in the group and seemed to enjoy his antics. The splashing trying to dive deep became a distraction. She also catered to that family. We sure would have loved more pictures especially when I saw how many more she had taken of them.

5.00Our family had a fantastic time on this adventure! The guides were incredibly helpful, fun and knowledgeable. The views from under the water are unbelievable. This tour is absolutely worth the money and time. This was my second time doing this tour. I brought my family back this time to experience it too. Kevin was awesome. He remembered all our names, took great photos and was very personable!
