Our Reykjavik walking tour is your introduction to our country. It will help you get your bearings and make the most of your stay in Iceland. We recommend it as your first stop in Reykjavik.
Our family-friendly tour brings the history of Iceland to life with exciting stories and Icelandic mythology. We’ll visit all of the famous landmarks in the city center, such as Harpa Concert Hall, Reykjavik Harbour, Hallgrímskirkja Church, Reykjavik Pond, and the Parliament building. But, we’ll also share hidden, local spots with you like a visit to an Elf home, things you’d miss if you didn’t know what to look for.
We want you to feel the unique, friendly atmosphere of our quirky little city, not just to see the most popular tourist attractions. We’ll be showing you our favorite places to eat, drink and visit.

We meet up by Ingólfur Square in old town Reykjavik by the artwork of the two stone pillars with smoke coming up from the top. Here we start off talking about the Settlement and the Icelandic Sagas.
The Settlement Exhibition
We stop on top of the museum and peer down at the first Viking house in Reykjavik and talk about Vikings. We don't enter the museum.

5.00…very knowledgeable and still entertaining. Stephani was fun. He kept up a steady pace but not too fast. We finished understanding more about Iceland and Reykjavik and what to do after the tour and on our trip.

5.00Such a great way to start our trip and get oriented to Reykjavik! We did this first after landing and before we got into our hotel. Our guide was super informative, engaging and so friendly and helpful! Definitely recommend this for anyone coming to Iceland!

5.00Interresant hiking in parts of Reykjavik with a lot of history from our guide Magnus. Starting at Ingolfstorg, Alltinget, Dammen, Reykjavik’s oldest house and the former prison were some of the things we were able to see and hear about.

5.00Our private walking tour with Robyn from Your Friend in Reykjavik was excellent. I contacted the company beforehand and let them know what my family is interested in. Robyn did a superb job at catering the tour to our interests and our kids' ages (11 and 14). She even took us to spot where a local cat hangs out because she knew my teenager loves cats! Tour was very informative but not overwhelming. Highly recommend both Robyn and Your Friend at Reykjavik

5.00We greatly enjoyed our walking tour with our guide, Bjarni r. He was very knowledgeable and did a great job of providing details on not only history, but also food and life in Iceland. Our original tour guide had an accident that day and Bjarni r fit our tour into his schedule. We enjoyed every minute of it and left feeling like we truly did have a friend in Reykjavik.

3.00Magnus is a pleasant young man who is very unlike the stereotypical image of a Viking. He leads a laid-back and entertaining tour. I was a bit disappointed about the very limited scope of this two-hour walk.
