• Beginner Snowboard Lessons – Mixed Experience

  We did a full-day beginner snowboard lesson on our first day with Daan, and it was fantastic. He was patient, clear, and made the whole experience really enjoyable. I’d absolutely recommend this lesson to anyone trying snowboarding for the first time. For our second day, we were advised to book a private lesson, and were told someone would pick us up. It sounded like the best next step, but unfortunately it ended up being our only regret of the trip. It was expensive and, in our experience, not worth the money. We expected a proper hotel pickup, but the instructor actually arrived by local bus. We then had to wait for the next bus ourselves to get to the lesson. There was also a language barrier, which meant we didn’t get much value out of the session and didn’t progress the way we’d hoped. My takeaway would be: read the reviews carefully, make sure you book your private lesson with the right instructor, and confirm exactly what “pickup” means beforehand.

  My experience with skiing was quite disappointing, primarily because of the behavior of my male coach. Instead of providing encouraging guidance, he often came across as rude and impolite. His dismissive comments made it difficult for me to feel comfortable asking questions or seeking help. This negative atmosphere not only impacted my confidence but also made the entire learning process much less enjoyable. I had hoped for a supportive environment, but unfortunately, the coach's attitude overshadowed the excitement of learning to ski. I observed that my coach displayed discriminatory behavior towards Asian participants, which was deeply troubling. His remarks and actions often felt biased, creating an uncomfortable environment for those of us from Asian backgrounds. It was disheartening to see such attitude in a place meant for learning and growth. Instead of fostering inclusivity, he contributed to a sense of division, making it difficult for many of us to feel accepted and valued in the group. 教練Allen非常沒禮貌，歧視亞洲人！ 我注意到我的教练对亚裔学员有些歧视，这让我感到很不舒服。他的言辞和行为常常带着偏见，让我们这些亚裔学员感到不自在。在本该是学习和成长的环境里，看到这样的态度真的很让人失望。他没有营造出一个包容的氛围，反而让我们觉得被排斥，很多人因此都不太敢表达自己，感觉很难被接纳和重视。我发现这位教练只顾着自己滑雪，根本不关心我们。他总是忙着展示自己的技巧，完全不理会我们的问题和需要。这种态度让我们很难跟上进度，也没办法得到有效的指导。我本来想在这里学习和享受滑雪的乐趣，但感觉就像被忽视了一样，实在很沮丧。

• Great experience but must note that no place to stay other than a restaurant!

  There were not enough bookings on my original date, but OUTDOOR let me change the date and join another group! The experience was great— our coach was amazingly patient, only 6 ppl in the group, and weather was great as well. However, although the company suggested me to bring my own meal, there’s no place to stay aside from the restaurant right beside the snowboarding place. Thus, I bought a cup of coffee and stayed at their table outside to eat my own food. Coffee was nice but it was a freezing meal experience haha.

  The experience was great. The instructor, Julien was very patient and taught us at our own pace. He was friendly and approachable too. Would highly recommend this for those beginners looking to learn how to snowboard!
