Karibu! Welcome to Tanzania and the beginning of your honeymoon adventure. Tanzania is a country bursting with natural beauty, wildlife, memorable experiences and some the friendliest people you will ever meet. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a Lion King representative and a big smile. You will be driven to your accommodation in Arusha and depending on your arrival time, may wish to explore the city a little. Otherwise, simply rest, refresh and prepare for the start of your Safari. Most people see Arusha as nothing more than Tanzania’s safari capital or a stopover for hiking the snow-capped Mt Kilimanjaro. Located exactly halfway between Cairo and Cape Town, Arusha represents the middle of the Old British Empire marked by a simple clock tower. Dig beneath its chaotic, dusty exterior and you’ll find there are plenty of reasons to explore this city.

Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will be collected by your personal Driver Guide and set off for Tarangire National Park. Drive time approximately two and a half hours. The Park is named after the Tarangire River which runs through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. In places, the vegetation is quite dense, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands and lush groundwater forest. The Park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffe, bushbuck and hartebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. There are more breeding species of birds found in Tarangire National Park than anywhere else on the planet! The huge and ancient Baobab trees can be seen here. Some of them are said to have lived for more than a thousand years and can grow to have trunks reaching 30 metres in circumference.

After breakfast, we will continue with your epic safari – Lake Manyara National Park. This relatively small but diverse park, 120km west of Arusha, is so named for the shallow salt lake which covers a good seventy percent of the park's surface area. Flooding and drying with the seasons the soda lake is home to thousands of flamingo as well as over 500 other bird species. On our exploration of the park we will see monkey, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and, with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs. After another memorable game drive we, with our adventure replete with images of the African wilds to last a lifetime.

After breakfast, you will continue towards the fertile highlands where wheat and corn are grown by the Iraqw people. Along the way, we'll pass through the mist-shrouded rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you might be lucky enough to see baboons or even leopards and elephants in the dense undergrowth. Passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will be able to see the breath-taking Ngorongoro Crater before traveling onwards to the Serengeti National Park, which you will reach by midday. The Serengeti National Park is the largest park in Tanzania with diverse landscapes and habitats, such as grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah, and mountains. After an extensive game drive, you will drive to your accommodation where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

This entire day is set aside for game drives upon the Serengeti. The Serengeti, the habitat of an abundance of wildlife such as impala, buffalo, crocodile, and hippo, is more well-known for its great migrating herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest. The animals’ trek is determined by the rainfall and varies from year to year. In November and December, the animals move from the northern region, dominated by woodlands and hills, to the grassy plains of the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June, they return to the north. Apart from the migrating herds, we may have the opportunity to see the resident predators, leopard, cheetah, and lion, fulfilling their role in the circle of life. After an unforgettable day, we will return to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner and our overnight sleep on The Endless Plain.

Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you will head out from Serengeti to Ngorongoro crater. You might be able to spot the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard – before embarking on your journey to Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO world heritage site formed millions of years ago is 600 m deep and covers roughly around 260 square kilometres. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25 000, the Crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. You will arrive at the Crater rim before lunch. You will descend into the Crater and very quickly, you will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. With a little bit of luck, you might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino through the grass. After lunch and a full afternoon inside the Crater, you will head to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

You will be picked up from your accommodation and drive straight to the airport in time to catch your flight to Zanzibar. You will spend the first night in Stone Town for a day of relaxation with amazing views of the old city. There is a possibility of arranging extra activities such as a day tour in Stone Town including Old Town guided tour, Spice Tour, and Prison Island. A tour to Jozani Forest can also be organized. All tours and excursions can be arranged at the hotel.

At a time of your choosing, you will be transferred to the Northern Coast of the Island (approximate drive time 90 minutes). Over the next few days, you will be able to relax and enjoy everything the Island has to offer. You can lounge on the beach or by the pool, or take part in some of the many activities. Your hotel will be able to arrange day trips to small islands or to the coral reefs. Professional PADI diving schools offer a full range of scuba diving with professional equipment. Other water sports such as kiting, kayaking, catamaran sailing, wind surfing, deep sea fishing, water skiing, parasailing and jet skiing are also on offer. Zanzibar is known as the Spice Island and was once the world’s leading producer of cloves. A guided tour of a spice farm is an option here.

5.00Wow! What an unforgettable honeymoon safari with Lion King Adventures! This trip exceeded every expectation and was truly the experience of a lifetime. From the very beginning, everything was perfectly organized (thank you Florida!), and the care we received throughout the journey was exceptional. Our guide, Jafari, was nothing short of amazing. He is incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful, and genuinely kind, and his passion for both wildlife and Tanzanian history made every day even more special. His expertise put us in the right place at the right time, again and again. Thanks to Jafari, we had unbelievable wildlife sightings, including leopards in the Serengeti, rhinos in the Ngorongoro Crater, lions in each park (especially rare sightings in Lake Manyara), and incredible up-close encounters with elephants in every park. He made sure we saw everything on our wishlist— lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas — and more. Every game drive felt exciting and unforgettable. The lodges were stunning, the food was incredible, and the level of hospitality was beyond anything we’ve experienced before. The warmth, kindness, and care from everyone we met made this trip even more meaningful. This was the perfect honeymoon and a true once-in-a-lifetime experience. 5.00We cannot say enough positive things about Lion King Adventures! We found this company from a friend’s recommendation and couldn’t be happier with what they put together for our honeymoon. Florida from the office created a wonderful itinerary, was very responsive to all questions, and helped us have the trip of our lifetime. We are especially grateful for our guide, Jafari. He brought us on the best tour of our lives. My husband and I have always dreamed of coming on a safari trip to Tanzania, but Jafari really brought this dream to life. We saw so many animals, more than in our wildest dreams! He was so knowledgeable and taught us so much about our favorite animals. He guided us with kindness, patience, and care. 5.00We spent five unforgettable days on safari with Clement, and I truly cannot imagine a better guide. From the very first day, his enthusiasm and deep knowledge of wildlife stood out. Clement took the time to point out special moments we never would have missed on our own, like identifying twin elephants, explaining that certain leopards were teenagers, and sharing insights into animal behavior that made every sighting feel meaningful. Clement knows each park like the back of his hand and has an incredible instinct for where to be. Our best day was in the Serengeti, where he found us an entire pride of over 15 lions resting on a rock—one of the most surreal moments of my life—followed by two leopard sightings the same day. Over the five days, we were able to see all of the Big Five. What also truly stood out was how safe and confident Clement made us feel. One day, we experienced a torrential downpour that caused flooding on the roads, yet Clement calmly navigated the conditions and still made sure we could go on a game drive. His skill, experience, and composure in challenging weather made us feel completely at ease throughout the trip. Clement is passionate, knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly capable. If you’re fortunate enough to have him as your guide, your safari will be unforgettable.

5.00Lion King Adventures was the best decision for our trip to Tanzania. They are very flexible and adapt the plans to the taste and need of the client. In our case, we took the 12-day tour, but reduced one night I made certain changes to the itinerary and destinations. Nickson Obedi was the one who organized the plan and was always in touch and watching everything before the trip. They are very clear in the instructions and the steps to follow. During the safari, we were with Fred Elias, who has 12 years of experience as a guide and shows it, as he is able to see animals where others pass by. Fred was always available and ready for anything we needed, and thanks to him the experience was unmatched. It should be noted that our trip was scheduled for three weeks after the protests over the elections. Back then, the internet was suspended in the country, but it was only restored, Nick contacted us and assured us that everything returned to normal... And it did. We never felt in danger or at risk of anything, and we saw nothing out of the ordinary. Lion King is highly recommended. It makes the trip a very easy experience.

My husband and I planned an 11 Days Honeymoon Luxury Safari, Natron Visit & Zanzibar with Lion King Adventures Our safari took us to Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Lake Natron from November 20th to the 27th with transfer to Zanzibar for 3 days afterwards. From the start communication with our trip coordinator Nickson Obedi was smooth. He was very responsive and was able to cater to our preferences. All the accommodations they suggested were amazing with great service. Our guide Fred Elias was very experienced and professional. Our experience would not have been the same without him! He answered all our questions about the animals and culture. He asked us what we wanted to see and we got to see all of them in the wild! From the big 5 to the more random animals like the hyrax. He has an amazing eye. At one point we were driving behind another jeep and Fred stopped was able to spot in the distance a pride of 15 lions they completely missed. There was a little hiccup with transportation to the airport but one call to Nick and it was fixed without a hitch. We at first were hesitant to come after the election protests but the team assured us safety was a priority and the situation at the moment was ok for tourists so we decided to come and are glad we did. We took the usual precautions when traveling to a foreign country and never felt unsafe. It was an unforgettable honeymoon.

5.00Frederick (Guide): 5/5 Frederick was phenomenal—knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly kind. He answered every question we threw at him, kept us fed and on schedule, and even handled my lost luggage by coordinating closely with Rose from the office. When we got a flat tire, he had it changed before I even returned from a bathroom break. He also took amazing photos for us using his own lens on my camera—both of the animals candids of us—which became some of our favorite souvenirs. We saw the Big 5, baby cheetahs, giraffes, hippos and so much more! Frederick made us feel comfortable from the first day, and we highly recommend requesting him for your safari. Lion King Adventures (Company): 4/5 Our overall experience with Lion King was very good. From airport pickup in Arusha to our drop-off in Zanzibar, the trip was smooth with very few hiccups. Communication around my lost luggage was great, and it arrived quickly thanks to the team. Where things fell short was excursion planning. Early in the process, we were told we could customize activities, but as the trip approached, it became difficult to get clear descriptions of what was booked for us already. This led to confusion about what counted as a Lion King–organized excursion versus a separate activity just booked through Trip Advisor. The safari itself was incredible, but clearer pre-trip communication would have made the planning experience stronger by allowing us to better pack and prep tips/money for the additional guides.

5.00My wife and I organized a honeymoon with Lion King after doing extensive research. We wanted to experience the Great Migration and Ngorongoro Crater, as well as other locations, ending with some beach time in Zanzibar to process everything. Our guide, Freddie, was fantastic. He knew where all the key animals were. We even got to see both the white and black rhinos. My wife loves elephants, and we saw many elephants every day on safari, thanks to Freddie. Book Freddie if you can, he’s got great knowledge and a good sense of humor. The hotels were all great and unique. They had the convenience of the West with the feel of Africa. Each one was memorable. We loved the Lion King tent experience in the Serengeti. We stayed 2 days, but definitely could have stayed a lot longer. Overall, the experience exceeded our expectations and would definitely recommend.

The choice of lodges is excellent, the itineraries are studied efficiently, everything is organized so that you really feel on holiday. Khalifa, our guide with 10 years of experience, did everything to meet our desires during the safari, and always with respect for nature and extremely friendly:-) In short, cocooning to make you feel good! 5.00Lion king adventures lived up to all expectations and more. Everything from accommodations, meals, and trips is very detailed making it easy to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the experience. The safari was absolutely incredible, but the best part was our tour guide Shabani! He made the excursions 10x better, the wonderful man knows all parks like the back of his hand! Shabi is so considerate of his clients but also very respectful of the parks and the animals. As for the rare species of safari animals we saw over 15 lions, a handful of cheetahs, a very rare active leopard with two baby cubs, AND 3 rhinos! Not only did Shabi put us in the best positions to see all the animals but he is just a very genuine friendly man. He answered all our thousands of questions and taught us some Swahili also. Shabani is that guy and I could not recommend lion king adventures more!

5.00Going on an African is completely worth it, and I would recommend you book through Lion King Adventures!! My new wife and I saw so many amazing animals. We had lions, giraffes, elephants, monkeys, and cheetahs within arms distance of our safari vehicle. Our rooms were very luxurious and the food was delicious. It was an amazing experience to wake up in a beautiful lodge on the Serengeti (Nyota Lodge). The hot air balloon is a must. It was an incredible experience, and it did lat feel sketchy at all. Our guide Frederick was wonderful guide and displayed the kindness Tanzania is known for. He has a great sense of when to stop and when to keep driving. He also has an incredible knack for finding animals (we got to see the big 5)! If you book with Lion King Adventures, I would 100% recommend Frederick. If you are on the fence about going on a Safari, please book it. You won’t regret it!
