Leave the "Blue City" behind and explore the mountains: immerse yourself in Morocco's spectacular natural landscapes on this two-day trek from Chefchaouen to Akchour.
Day 1:
Start of trekking, today's trek will be Chefchaouen - Afeska (7 hours), through the upper valley of Tissouka. Cedars, junipers, and endemic if trees. Views of the natural park of Bouhachem and surrounding villages. A picnic to rest and recharge your strength after 3 hours of trekking. After the stop we will go down to the village of Afeska to continue to our rural Gite in Afeska. They will be waiting for us with a local tea with medicinal plants. Accommodation at the rural house.
Day 2: Afeska - God's bridge - Chefchaouen

Place Outa el Hammam
The central square of Chefchaouen is full of restaurants at a good price for lunch or dinner. It is a fairly large square where there is plenty of life. In this square is the Kasbah (fortress) and the first mosque of the city.
Chefchaouen Cemetery
Small and quiet, the Chefchaouen Cemetery points to the remnants of a once vibrant culture. Visitors may notice that many of the tombs have inscriptions written in Arabic
Kasbah Museum
The kasbah is a heavily restored walled fortress that now contains a lovely garden, a small ethnographic museum, and an even smaller art gallery. The ethnographic museum contains some fascinating views of old Chefchaouen, including the plaza and the kasbah; the gallery promotes the work of local artists. The views from the kasbah tower over the medina are a delight.
Grand Mosque
Constructed in the 15th century, Chefchaouen’s Grande Mosque was built on the orders of Moulay Mohamed Ben Ali Ben Rachid, the son of the city’s founder. It features an octagonal minaret, which is somewhat unusual when compared to the many square minarets that generally tower over the nation’s myriad mosques. The shape was influenced by Andalusian styles, brought to the country by Muslims from Spain. Built from stone, the shades of brown and beige are juxtaposed against the nearby blue and white buildings. Admiring the mosque is among the top things to do in the city. Do note that non-Muslim visitors are not permitted to enter the mosque.
Ras El Ma

Talassemtane National Park
The name means ‘cold spring’ in Berber. Some popular destinations include the small villages of El Kelaâ and Akchour, and God’s Bridge, a natural formation that looks like a stone arch. The duration of these excursions depends on how much you wish to drive versus walk. Check our other products
Arriving to this small village in the heart of Talassemtane National park, we will spend the night in Afeska rural house

The 3 day hike in National Park Talassemtane was amazing. As part of the diaspora living in Europe with roots in the Chefchaouen region this hike was both important and challenging. Thanks to Chefchaouen Adventures I managed to visit my fathers birth village and get to see the region through the eyes of the locals who are very friendly and helpful. There is no request that can’t be fulfilled and Chefchaouen Adventures works only with the best guides, drives and other resources engaged professionals. The hike on the first was tough due to several reasons - among them the hot climate and my zero hiking experience, but with the guide’s help I managed to reach the village of Affaska. That gave me such a sense of pride and zest that I’m considering another hike with Chefchaouen Adventures again.

Najib was an amazing guide. He's got a great spirit and was really kind, letting me practice my Arabic and teaching me loads! We met some other hikers at the gite and they joined us on the second day which made the trip even more enjoyable! Najib showed us all some amazing wild flowers, fruits, and herbs. The views were amazing, the chef and Ibrahim at the gite were great hosts (we played local Moroccan board games late into the night), and all the knowledge Najib shared with us was mindblowing! Definitely worth doing if you want to get some fresh air out in the mountains and enjoy nature in good company.

Two-day hike around Chefchaouen, perfectly organized thanks to Chefchaouen Adventures. They are very responsive and we had all the information upstream by exchanging via WhatsApp (immediate response). We were with two children aged 10 and 17, we went through fantastic landscapes, and learned a lot about the area, from our Najib Guide. We loved the walk, the scenery, the swimming (in the water, crystal clear at the bridge of God), and the evening spent at the refuge where we were served a royal meal. It was hot, but Najib adapted to our pace, everything went perfectly!

We did a fantastic two-day hike together with our guide Nahib. In a very personal way, he made it a nice adventure for our whole family (parents and 2 boys aged 21 and 19). The landscape kept changing: the first day is a lot of climbing over rocks and when you reach the top, you enter a beautiful forested area. Afterwards, you walk to the guesthouse for a delicious dinner and we had an nice evening together with Nahib. The next day is downhill and again you see many different landscapes. Ending with God's bridge (beautiful) and you can go for a swim. The hike is highly recommended for anyone who likes a bit of a challenge. Nahib is the best guide: thanks for everything! We have just completed 2 days of hiking with Chefchauen adventures as a family with 2 children under 10. Hiking out of town up the steep forested maze we pushed our way through densely vegetated paths observing rural Moroccan life. Women hand digging huge terraced fields, herds of goats and sheep cared for by sheppards and wild flowers in full bloom. A huge couple of days covering some 30kms fueled by some of the most homely and natural food. Yasim was supportive and accomodating all the way.

We had an amazing experience traveling in the spectacular Rif Mountains. Our guide, Mohamed El Bakali, was always cheerful and helpful, even with our unending questions. He went out of his way to identify and describe the plant life, for which I had a special interest. And he was fun! We laughed alot. The gite was very clean, beautifully situated, and quiet. They also served the most fantastic food - the best food we've had in Morocco! The mountains are incredible, very steep, rugged, and beautiful. Therefore one caution: the trails are hard. They sometimes are steep and/or slippery. Anyone inclined to vertigo may have issues. That said, if you are game, you will never forget this magical, spectacular place! Thank you, Mohamed, and Chefchouen Adventures!

Challenging trek in spectacular country! Communication with Mohamed on booking was excellent and our guide Najib was knowledgeable and great company, looking after us from pick up at our door in Chefchaouen to dropping us back. The overnight at the gite in Afeska was a wonderful experience with fantastic food. I highly recommend the trip!

Very nice hiking tour with beautiful scenery! Our guide Nagib was a very nice person. He has good knowledge about the local area and plants in the mountains. The overnight stay in a small village Afaska was also fun. We had mint tea in the mountains, and saw monkeys in the wild at a distance. Would recommend the tour!
