You won’t want to miss this Atlanta food experience. In just two hours, you will try 8 delicious tastings from 4 food vendors in Atlanta’s oldest market and become Southern cooks with a hands-on Atlanta cooking class.
You’ll learn fascinating Atlanta history and get a close look at Southern cooking and Georgia’s most famous foods, including peaches, collards, and pecans. And, you will love learning how to make the perfect Southern biscuit.
During December, you'll make fun snowman decorated biscuits!

In this ultimate Atlanta food experience, you’ll enjoy a historic market food tour with delicious tastings from four vendors plus learn how to make the perfect Southern biscuit in a hands-on class. (And, yes, we do all of this in just two hours!) We do not recommend parking the lot behind the market because it's very expensive! There is a $5 or $10 lot nearby on Jesse Hill Jr. Blvd. Parking is extra!

5.00Our son gave us this tour and it was fantastic. We’ve lived in Atlanta for over 30 years and I’d never been to the Sweet Auburn Market. Glenn gave us a tour of the market along with its history. We then had a tasting for 4 shops. We had chicken jambalaya, oxtail and grits, and a Vietnamese chicken slider. It was a delicious and we got a bunch of chicken jambalaya to take home. Glenn then gave us a lesson and we made real buttermilk biscuits that were some of the best I’ve ever had. We then munched on a banana pudding cookie from the store next door while we shopped for some groceries to take home. We got there at 11 and were done by 1 so it was a great way to see a part of Atlanta for a lunch date!

5.00A wonderful and tasty experience. Mila was entertaining and very knowledgeable. Tasted some good food, learned a lot, felt the Atlanta culture, met some amazing people, and ate some hot biscuits at the end of it!

5.00I took the Market Tour and Biscuit Making Class with Unexpected Atlanta, and it was such a fun experience. Our guide, Mila, was personable, kind, and genuinely enjoyable. She did not make any standard tour guide jokes and kept things fun, interesting, and full of good energy. This was my first time visiting Atlanta, and it was a great, engaging way to start my trip.

5.00This tour was worth the price. We tasted food from a variety of the restaurants in the Municipal Market and learned the history of the iconic space. The best part was learning to make biscuits. Mila was efervescente host/guide/teacher. Highly recommend

5.00Ariel, our guide was very knowledgeable about origins of food, not just the Food market we visited. I’m vegetarian, I didn’t only go for the food, I wanted the experience, it’s an authentic market, almost 100years old.
