Auckland Harbour Bridge

Standing sentinel across the Waitemata Harbour, the Auckland Harbour Bridge is a crucial piece of infrastructure. Harbour bridge is the only bridge which connects the metropolis of the central business district to the North Shore and beyond to Northland.

North Head Historic Reserve

The location of Maungauika at the entrance to the Waitematā Harbour made it an important coastal defense. It was fears of a Russian invasion in the 1880s that led to the construction of a fort and the three disappearing gun batteries dotted along the maunga (mountain).

Our ship was delayed arriving so our tour guide found another guide to take us on a private tour within the window of time we were at the port. This caused him a lot of extra work and coordination just to get us sorted. Then our guide Israel was most accommodating and flexible to essentially drive us wherever we wanted to go including a town 45 minutes outside of Auckland. We were looking at places outside the normal tourist sites as our interest was in housing for relocation. Israel was very knowledgeable about the various communities, the history and culture of his city which helped us learn a lot in a short amount of time. On top of all this, he was very kind and considerate! We would highly recommend both the tour company and the guides as they clearly care about providing a memorable experience. Don't hesitate to book with them!

We received excellent communication the day before our tour, which set the tone for a smooth experience. On the day itself, we were delighted to discover it was a private tour—what a wonderful surprise! Our guide, Iseral, was both friendly and professional, allowing us to explore each destination at our own pace. Mount Eden was a standout, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of Auckland—absolutely stunning. Although the Cathedral was unfortunately closed, we appreciated the flexibility to be dropped off at the Fish Market, where we enjoyed a delicious lunch to wrap up a fantastic day.

Israel was nice and professional, bringing us to all the places and answered all the questions. As it was raining that day, he even had plan B to bring us to other places instead of out door, but thanks god the rain stopped after awhile.

It was a small group and the guide's voice was very easy to hear. It was a very quick tour after arriving from Japan, but it was a good introduction to the two-week trip, as it gave us an overview of not only Auckland but also New Zealand. Thank you very much.
