Urquhart Castle
We make a photo stop at Loch Ness with views of the 13th century Urquhart Castle, now derelict.
Commando Monument
We stop at the Commando Memorial which pays tribute to the men of the original British Commando Forces who lost their lives during World War II. The monument was built in 1951 and stands proudly with views of Ben Nevis in the distance.
Glenfinnan Viaduct
The West Highland Line between Mallaig and Fort William is famous for its wildly beautiful scenery and dreamy sands of the west coast. Take the chance to join the Jacobite Steam Train. The train steams over the 21 arches of the Glenfinnan Viaduct with views across the stunning Loch Shiel, where Bonnie Prince Charlie famously landed in August 1745. Along the coast, you can see the silhouette of the Small Isles, and the bonnie beaches at Arisaig and Morar. You’ll quickly understand why it’s been voted the most scenic rail journey in the world.
Mallaig
After the Steam Train opportunity, we arrive in Mallaig for some lunch. Known as a charming fishing village, Mallaig is the perfect place to enjoy some fish and chips and stretch your legs before our journey continues to Skye.
Isle of Skye
Now we head “over the sea to Skye”! Look out for the wildlife as we depart from the mainland.
Sligachan Old Bridge
According to legend, the waters under Sligachan Old Bridge offer eternal youth. Why not give it a go for yourself? Sligachan also offers beautiful views of the Cuillin Hills.

Dunvegan
We enjoy a lunch stop in Dunvegan, a tiny village on the isle of Skye famous for Dunvegan Castle.
Quiraing
Enjoy the spectacular view of the Quiraing; a stunning display of dramatic cliffs, rock pinnacles and breath-taking views on Skye’s Trotternish peninsula.
Kilt Rock
Soak up the iconic view of Kilt Rock, a rugged cliff which resembles – you’ve guessed it – a kilt. Marvel at the breathtaking Mealt Waterfall as it runs into the ocean.
The Old Man of Storr
When it comes to cool geology, this natural wonder is the absolute pinnacle. Standing tall on Skye’s ancient landslip, the Old Man of Storr is such a poser. Sometimes hidden by mist, this is a popular hangout for mischievous fairies.

We stop at the most photographed castle in Scotland, Eilean Donan. Eilean Donan Castle has links to both clans MacKenzie and MacRae. Pay entrance on arrival.

Muir of Ord
Our next stop takes us to Glen Ord for a Highland whisky experience! Enjoy a dram whilst your guide explains exactly how it is made, and teaches you about the history of whisky in Scotland.
Culloden Battlefield
One of the most somber locations in Scotland, Culloden Battlefield remains mostly untouched to pay respect to those who lost their lives in the final Jacobite Uprising of 1746. Pay on arrival.

We did a 3 day excursion with Donnie, there were three couples including my wife and I. Day 1: Our trip started out with a stop off at the lookout over Urquhart Castle (quick stop because we needed to make our train ride, yes that train) Donnie went above and beyond to get us tickets for the Jacobite Steam Train aka Harry Potter Hogwarts Train, the views of the Scottish countryside and Glennfinnan Viaduct were awesome. We met Donnie at the last stop in the amazing coastal town of Mallaig where we had lunch before boarding the ferry for the Isle of Skye, the next stop at Sligachan was one of amazing views and really good Whisky, then crossed the Old Bridge the right way according (thanks Donnie) Skye is such a beautiful island, the views we had on our way to our lodgings (The Skye Inn) in Portree made me want to never leave. Throughout the trip Donnie told us stories and history of the places we stopped at and passed by, once in Portree wife and I went for a walk to find some places for her to photograph (the colour houses specifically) but we didn't find the right spot that day. Day 2: Up for breakfast which was served at our lodging, really good breakfast, then off to the Fairy Pools which were so cool to see (the whole area was beautiful). Then my highlight was seeing the Fairy Flag of Dunvegan Castle, a couple more stops to see some amazing views and then back to base (Portree) and finding dinner and also getting the colour houses picture which Donnie showed us where to get it from was great. Day 3: Last day and we are heading back to Inverness with sticky buns and Ronnie 😁. Last stop is Culloden Battlefield and the Clava Cairns which were both amazing, I know I've probably missed a few things but this was an amazing experience and adventure. We got to see so many things on our list that would have taken a lot longer to see individually and it would have cost us more to do it and we got stories and history in the process. So an amazing trip with a great group and an awesome tour guide.

This was an incredible 3 days! Our tour operator, Donnie, was amazing. Full of information and great stories, he kept us laughing and entertained the whole time. And he could always point us to the best food, drinks, sticky buns (amazing), place to take a photo, etc. He also went out of his way to get us last minute seats on the steam train. Ronnie was a great co-pilot. The trip itself was packed with everything we wanted to see and more, but it never felt rushed. This was a really well thought out tour. Our group was 3 couples, which we felt was the perfect size. We've never done more than just a day tour, and it was great to have all the driving and our accomodations taken care of. Absolutely worth it.

Chose this tour because I didn’t want to deal with driving on the Isle of Skye, and not only did I not have to deal with the stress of single track roads, I got to enjoy dramatic vistas to a well-curated playlist of Scottish (and Irish and English) bands. Tim was an entertaining guide with just the right amount of bad jokes expected of any respectable tour guide. His playlist and storytelling more than made up for any cheese. Enjoyed all the locations visited and would recommend.

Great time touring with Tim. Well organized with great information, stories and the best soundtracks. All the stops were beautiful and timed well to be exactly what was needed. Tim kept us ahead of the crowds and when a couple small things went wrong that were totally out of his control he rolled with it and kept up a good humor so we felt like it was just part of the fun. Tim kept us well informed every step of the way so it was a smooth well executed experience. Would highly recommend.

First tour I've taken and Tim made it an amazing experience. He's professional, personable, funny and knows a wealth of information. Stories and music were great! He's a safe and competent driver as well...no motion sickness which I'm prone to! Fabulous asset to the company! Tour itself was great... saw plenty of attractions with ample time.

We had such a great time on this 3 day tour from Inverness. Everyone was from a different country and we had such a great time together. Louise was an excellent guide driving is on the narrow roads of the Highlands. She is fun, knowledgeable of the history of Scotland and I caught myself smiling so many times listening to her storytelling!! Highly recommend this tour!!
