Urquhart Castle
We make a photo stop at Loch Ness with views of the 13th century Urquhart Castle, now derelict.
Commando Monument
We stop at the Commando Memorial which pays tribute to the men of the original British Commando Forces who lost their lives during World War II. The monument was built in 1951 and stands proudly with views of Ben Nevis in the distance.
Glenfinnan Viaduct
The West Highland Line between Mallaig and Fort William is famous for its wildly beautiful scenery and dreamy sands of the west coast. Take the chance to join the Jacobite Steam Train. The train steams over the 21 arches of the Glenfinnan Viaduct with views across the stunning Loch Shiel, where Bonnie Prince Charlie famously landed in August 1745. Along the coast, you can see the silhouette of the Small Isles, and the bonnie beaches at Arisaig and Morar. You’ll quickly understand why it’s been voted the most scenic rail journey in the world.
Mallaig
After the Steam Train opportunity, we arrive in Mallaig for some lunch. Known as a charming fishing village, Mallaig is the perfect place to enjoy some fish and chips and stretch your legs before our journey continues to Skye.
Isle of Skye
Now we head “over the sea to Skye”! Look out for the wildlife as we depart from the mainland.
Sligachan Old Bridge
According to legend, the waters under Sligachan Old Bridge offer eternal youth. Why not give it a go for yourself? Sligachan also offers beautiful views of the Cuillin Hills.

Fairy Pools
We stop to take in the natural beauty of the fairy pools. The crystal-clear waters will take your breath away. Your guide will tell you stories about the folklore of the island, and the fairy stories which bring the island to life.
Dunvegan
We enjoy a lunch stop in Dunvegan, a tiny village on the isle of Skye famous for Dunvegan Castle.
Quiraing
Enjoy the spectacular view of the Quiraing; a stunning display of dramatic cliffs, rock pinnacles and breath-taking views on Skye’s Trotternish peninsula.
Kilt Rock
Soak up the iconic view of Kilt Rock, a rugged cliff which resembles – you’ve guessed it – a kilt. Marvel at the breathtaking Mealt Waterfall as it runs into the ocean.
The Old Man of Storr
When it comes to cool geology, this natural wonder is the absolute pinnacle. Standing tall on Skye’s ancient landslip, the Old Man of Storr is such a poser. Sometimes hidden by mist, this is a popular hangout for mischievous fairies.
BREAKFAST

Eilean Donan Castle
We stop at the most photographed castle in Scotland, Eilean Donan. Eilean Donan Castle has links to both clans MacKenzie and MacRae. Pay entrance on arrival.

Next we stop in the charming highland village of Beauly for the chance to explore. Beauly Priory, which lies at the heart, is a now-derelict monastic community with origins tracing back to the 13th century.
Muir of Ord
Our next stop takes us to Glen Ord for a Highland whisky experience! Enjoy a dram whilst your guide explains exactly how it is made, and teaches you about the history of whisky in Scotland.
Culloden Battlefield
One of the most somber locations in Scotland, Culloden Battlefield remains mostly untouched to pay respect to those who lost their lives in the final Jacobite Uprising of 1746. Pay on arrival.
Clava Cairns
Visit one of the inspirations behind Outlander - the Clava Cairns standing stones. These stones stand proudly at 10 feet tall and are known for being a bronze age burial ground.

We had a great time with our tourguide Torquil. The man is a true legend. We visited many places and he knew all the facts and stories about all of them. I could recommend it to anyone.

I had a great time. We had a tourguide named torquil, he knew a lot about the islands and had a nice way of telling stories about the lands and sites. We actually saw a lot of sites in a short time. And as a real local torquil did his best to give us the ultimate Scotland expierence!

We encountered an accident on our way to the train and missed the first stop (which was not the tour groups fault). Our incredible driver/guide Karen turned the bus around on a narrow road and rerouted us. We were able to connect with the train. She added a couple of extra stops to make up for the mishap. She offered wonderful suggestions and gave clear and interesting histories of what we were seeing. She even negotiated with the viaduct lot to allow us to park and watch the afternoon train passing in spite of the lot bring full. Karen is a wonderful guide that you would be lucky to have.

Our driver Donnie made this trip most enjoyable and I always felt safe. His knowledge of all our destinations was most impressive . Being an older lady he was most attentive to my needs and was waiting at each spot with the door open

We had a lovely tour. Donnie was our guide. He was kind and accommodating. He was very knowledgable about the area and places we visited. He made sure we were all enjoying and kept us safe. Some feedback, I would have appreciated more focused description of the the sites visited with a better balance of storytelling/information and quiet time to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

We just finished our three day Isle of Skye. As a first time visitor to the Highlands this tour was exceptional. The views. The places. The people. Donnie was our tour guide/driver. He was extremely knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. He made sure we stopped for quick breaks and/or coffee when needed to get warm. In a few years I’ll be back to book with this company again and request Donnie. Thank you Donnie for getting us around safely and for the friendly service. You become the a member of the family for the three days together and put us Canadians to shame who could not brave the cold 🥶.

This tour was the best part of our 8 days in Scotland. Our guide, Donnie, had so much knowledge of the history of Scotland and the sites. We had 10 on the tour which was perfect and he was flexible on time we needed at each site. The beauty of Skye was amazing. This tour will take you through the most beautiful parts of Skye, Fairly Pools, Old Man of Storr, Quiraing, and Kilt Rock. Accommodations were perfect at the Skye Inn and their restaurant was excellent as well. I would skip the Jacobite train... I think it would have been more fun to stand on the side of the road and see the engine pass by. The train cars our dated and while the scenery nice it was something I could have missed. Donnie's narration and funny stories during our 3 days were the best memories for sure. He even dined with us both nights at the hotel restaurant. He knows all the locals and best places to eat which made it feel very personal. If you don't have a car, you need to take this tour.

We had a great trip, Donnie our guide was so much fun and really informative! The Isle of Skye is phenomenal and so beautiful! The Fairy Pools were my favorite but if you have any mobility issues, take your time and your cane! The mountains and lochs are just breathtaking and the castles are jaw dropping! The Skye Inn was so comfortable and the people there are so friendly and welcoming. I can’t say enough about how delicious the food was, especially the roasted tomato soup and the pavlova! I’ll be thinking about them for awhile!! I highly recommend this tour and our guide Donnie!

Donnie was fabulous! Very friendly and informative. He made a great effort to include the interests of the tour group. The tour itself was very relaxed and included just enough of a variety of things…nature, history, food and castles. On the ferry ride, definitely sit the top deck. We saw minke whales! The gardens at Dunvegan castle were stunning and Eilean Donan castle is worth the entry fee. Dinner at Skye Inn is phenomenal! Have the sticky pudding. Would highly recommend Haggis Tours!
