This 3-day safari covers three top attractions in Northern Tanzania. While located near one another, each national park features unique aspects; incredible bird sightings and mighty elephants in Tarangire National Park; and the endangered rhino in Ngorongoro. Across these three locations, you are sure to capture photos of the Big Five of Africa: elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhino, and lion.
This safari itinerary is for travelers considering time and cost; guests spend two nights in comfortable lodges near the national parks and enjoy two nights at a top-rated hotel in Arusha town. Guests will be comfortable with available wifi, delicious meals, and access to a swimming pool. A professional driver-guide with much experience in the African bush will lead your trip and provide deeper insight into the animals and scenery around you.

The group arrives at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO). Participants are met by a representative of Altezza Travel and transferred to a hotel in Arusha. *A pick-up location is flexible - let us know your plans! Note: The hotel cost only includes breakfast. Check-in starts at 2:00 PM. Earlier check-in is available at an extra cost upon prior notice.

After breakfast (around 7:30 AM), your safari guide will pick you up from the hotel. By 10:00 AM, you will reach Tarangire and start your first safari day! In the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes the only source of drinking water for many kilometers around. Because of this, large herds of elephants come to Tarangire, making Tarangire the home to the largest population of elephants in Northern Tanzania for most of the year (especially June - October and December - March). Elephants are not at all intimidated by visitors to the park, and they often come quite close to cars. This is completely safe - since elephants have no enemies in their natural nature they are naturally curious and unafraid. Tarangire National Park is also known for its ancient baobab trees. These massive trees are larger and older than any other park in continental Africa. The scenery, accented with these signatory trees is simply stunning.

Your second day in Tarangire National Park. Your Altezza guide will show you the sections of Tarangire that you did not have time to visit yesterday. There are a lot of interesting locations with beautiful views, and even more African animals. In Tarangire, you can see rare species, some of which are not usually found even in the Serengeti, such as long-necked gerenuks and oryx. Also in Tarangire, there are hyraxes - small funny animals that are the closest relatives of elephants, despite their very different size. It is very interesting to watch them, and they willingly let visitors come fairly close for photos only (remember: no touching wildlife!). In addition, bird lovers will be interested in Tarangire because there are more than 550 species of birds here! We have good resolution binoculars in our car so you can see them even better.

Ngorongoro Crater
The legendary Ngorongoro Crater! Here you will witness tens of thousands of wild animals living in the massive crater left by a huge ancient volcano. The actual crater is relatively small, when you consider that it is home to the most variety of animals per square meter than anywhere else in the world! Here, you are sure to see a great number of animals within close proximity to one another. The descent into the crater will take about half an hour of driving. The road passes through beautiful, lush forests with great scenery. After your morning game drive around the crater, you will stop at the picnic area next to Lake Magadi for a snack and rest. One of the draws of Lake Magadi are the hippos that live in the area. You’re sure to enjoy watching them while you eat lunch. Due to the large number of animals and endemic plants, Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and renowned for its natural significance in the world.

5.00We were extremely satisfied by our safari tour organized by Altezza. All our expectations were met and we have also encountered pleasant surprises in terms of lodge/hotel accommodation quality, food quality and transportation (car) quality. Trip plan was very well balanced, all our requests and preferences were taken into account and all our questions were answered. Value for money is very reasonable. During the final part of our trip, right before leaving, we had encountered election-triggered riots and we had to alternate our plans (leave later). We would like to highlight that Altezza fully supported us in this unexpected and extreme conditions. They did everything they could do to ensure the best experience for us, taking care of our safety and comfort inside Tanzania as much as possible and covering the needed expenses. Thanks to that, we were able to focus on leaving Tanzania safely as soon as possible.

5.00I loved my driver i had for the tour from start to finish. He was so patient and gentle. Didn't mind if I fell asleep during the drive and while we were in the national parks looking at animals he would stop and explain each animals and their behaviors. he was extremely good at spotting animals when I couldnt hahaha! I loved every accommodation I stayed at each night. absolutely beautiful and saw soooooo many varieties of animals. it was especially exciting when we saw a lion hunting a couple of buffalos. gorgeous sceneries 💜

5.00Amazing trip. Best part was the guide who came with us all three days, and was very knowledgeable. Got to know him well. Worst part was we didn’t do more days. The hotels that were booked for us were exceptional and the service was the best we’ve ever had.

5.00We had an amazing time on Safari with Altezza Travel. We did 1 day each in 3 parks - Arusha, Tarangire, and Ngorogoro National parks. Richard was our guide for Arusha and Walter was our guide for Tarangire and Ngorogoro - both were very knowledgeable about the wildlife and fauna, and shared about the culture and life in Tanzania. We were able to see the big 5 and then some! 2 recommendations: come in the dry season and wear a buff for the dirt, our guides handle everything else.

5.00We had a great time with Altezza on a 3 day safari from Arusha. The planning was super easy and they answered all our questions and helped plan our specific itinerary and adjustments needed. We were super happy with the service and quick responses and the package. We loved both resorts (Nimali Tarangier and Ngorongoro Melia Lodge). The latter was stunning with the view of the crater. Our guide and driver Deko was fabulous and we saw a ton of game and truly wonderful experience. Highly recommend Altezza.

5.00From the very start of this trip altezza were outstanding. We also did kilimanjaro and the while thing was managed so well. Sophia answered every question and arranged transfers and storage even rearranging when KLM changed our flights. Allan was our driver and he was very knowledgeable, taking us through a lot of the history of Tanzania on our way to the safari. When there, he knew the best route and stopped at every photo opportunity, and there were many. The accommodation was 5 star and we were treated like royalty wherever we went. Perfect start to our 4 week adventure. Would thoroughly recommend Altezza!

5.00I was totally surprised by how interesting this safari was. It goes way beyond seeing the animals and birds that my guide Cathbert pointed out for me. He didn't just identify the wildlife, he shared insights about why the animals behave the way they do. My favorite was his explanation why wildebeests hang around zebras: it's because zebras show them where to find water. And the zebras don't mind guiding the wildebeest, because when they reach water, the zebras step aside and let the wildebeest drink first to flush out any lurking lions! You don't get stories like this at the zoo.

5.00Altezza was a great company to deal with. Everything was layed out for you so there were no surprises. They provided excellent guides and places to stay and eat. They were always quick to respond to any issue that may have arisen. Woulds highly recommend. Also if you get Abdul as guide you will be in for a treat.

5.00The safari was perfect: we saw almost all the animals, the driver is excellent, did everything to find us the right locations, friendly, attentive... The hotels are also excellent, and the agency was there. listening to sometimes unusual requests (visiting a beekeeper on the way). Nothing to criticize, we got more than our money's worth ;-)

5.00Altezza has organized our safari tour on very high level. The accommodation was perfect and the assigned safari guide - Yasin - just incredible professional. We followed his recommendations to wake up early and succeeded to see all possible animals in Taragire, Maniara, Ngorongoro. One of the bright memory was when we were chasing black rhino - Yasin have done all possible and impossible for us, but we managed to see that beautiful animal. Yasin has more than efficient knowledge about animals and their behaviors, so he was able to answer any tricky question. I only regret that I had not enough time to explore more.
