Singing Barkhan
Located in Altyn-Emel National Park, Singing dune is one of the most unique phenomena of nature. The area is referred to as the Singing Dunes on account of the rumbling sound emitted from the sand. A light breeze gives a barely audible squeak, while strong gusts produce a more intense sound, similar to an organ. In the Middle Ages, people who heard the singing of a dune, believed that it was the howling devil.
Aktau Mountains
Limestone mountains Aktau is a geological museum under the sky. This is one of the most interesting and spectacular objects of tourism in the State National Natural Park “Altyn-Emel”. In Kazakh it means the White Mountains. Mountains seem white only from afar. In the canyons of the mountains one can find naked multi-colored dome rocks, towers composed of colored layers alternate with dry canyons, filled with calcite crystals. Landscapes change constantly – bastions, towers, small towns, inaccessible castles and canyons, there is no end to them.

Charyn Canyon
Canyon Charyn is located on the territory of the Charyn National Park, created with the purpose of preserving natural and geological objects. On the territory of the park there is a large number of rare and endangered species of animals listed in the Red Book. Canyon Charyn is a picturesque natural place, which strikes with its unearthly landscapes. The depth of the canyon is 200 m. The height of the sheer mountains of the canyon reaches 150-300 m.
Lake Kaindy
Kaindy Lake – a truly amazing example of the creation of nature. It is located among a huge coniferous forest at an altitude of more than 2000 thousand meters above sea level. It was formed by a landslide of a huge accumulation of limestone, as well as subsidence of the soil.

The Kolsay Lakes is a popular tourist destination. The word “kolsay” means “lake in the gorge” and there are three of them: Upper, Middle and Lower. They are all quite deep, cool and scenic. The lower lake is located at 1818 meters above sea level and 80 meters in depth. It is accessible by road and has guest-houses, campsites, boats and horse riding.

5.00It was our first time visiting Kazakhstan and this was a great private tour for me and my best friend. Great communication and ease of booking. Our guide and driver, Chingus, was so thoughtful- always attentive with our food and drinks needs, knowledgeable and went out of his way to ensure we got to see as much as possible.

5.00My husband and I planned a 3 day nature excursion and it was a great experience. Explore Kazakhstan was very helpful and prompt with the communication, planning, understanding our requirements, all arrangements. Kudos to our guide, Chingiz who ensured we were welcome and comfortable in the country. Personal suggestions by him made our experience even better ! We could cover everything at our own pace, without it being tiring at all, and also he acted as our personal photographer, clicking nice memories for us. The vehicle was super comfortable and spacious, and rugged enough to cover the difficult terrains. Will surely recommend this tour company if you are looking for a seamless experience in Kazak.

5.00Unmissable experience of canyons, lakes and landscapes from Almaty. We enjoyed our visit to Charyn Canyon, Kolsay Lake, Lake Kaindy, Singing Sand Dunes, Bestamak Canyon, Moon Canyon, Aktau Mountains and excellent Guide Mikhail who showed several interesting birds and animals. This trip should be a must for visitors to Kazakstan.

5.00The tour is well organized. The places I visited during this tour is simply incredible! The 3 days tour allowed me to see the sites without rushing. My guide, Dorzh, was very helpful and took care of everything. He also took great pics and videos. I would highly recommend taking this tour.

5.00Surreal experience for the Kazhak 4days spent with explore Kazakh tour company and BhaktiYaar Firstly i gotta give it to Khazakastan for its ever changing scenic beauty everywhere we went be it Charyn canyon for its 50m old carving by mother nature to naturally formed Kaindy lake to the singing dunes to the Kolsay lake 1 &2. We were efficiently driven to all these places, got the best veg food everywhere, ensured that we were super safe and what more he was a translator in places to understand the local culture.
I took a 3-day tour. The guide is very kind and professional!

5.00As I worked at The Ritz-Carlton, Almaty I had an opportunity to meet lots of people from all over the world. One of them was Warren family, who came from Australia. They asked me if I can find tours in order to visit canyon and lakes around Almaty. I found ExploreKazakhstan and this trip was really AMAZING. The team is great, Madina knows lots of interesting information (even I was surprised even if I was born in Almaty and Kazakh, who studied history) and Askhat - driver is so supportive. The Warren family was grateful for this trip and I really want to thank the whole team. It was great! We enjoyed everything!
