The participants of the tour will get a unique experience and information about the complete chain of processing of Tushetian wool. Together with local artists, they will create handmade items with their own hands in an authentic environment.
At the end of the day, dinner and the tasting of traditional Tushetian dishes are followed by an exchange of emotions and impressions with homemade wine or chacha.

A 3-hour wool tour in Zemo Alvan involves getting to know the complete chain of wool processing from Tushetian sheep.Participants of the tour meet in Zemo Alvan, in the Veli Guest House, and continue to walk to the local wool processing workshop, which is the only workshop in the region. (The workshop may be in progress or temporarily suspended.) In this workshop, tour participants will get to know the complete chain of processing and final product creation of Tushetian sheep's wool. After visiting the workshop, participants will walk to the local artist's workshop (the workshop is in their home), where they will see how traditional products are made using Tushetian sheep's wool and threads. After learning about the activities of local artists, participants will have the opportunity to participate in an artist workshop or master class and make their own handicrafts to take home as souvenirs. The final part of the tour is dinner at the Veli Guest House, where they will taste traditional Tushetian dishes and drinks. Tour duration: 5 hours Walking distance: 3 kilometers

5.00Our whole family, including two teenagers (15 and 13), thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We visited the wool factory and craft workshop for an insight into how the local wool is processed and used, and then went on to create our own felt masterpieces. The tour ended with the most delicious homemade lunch at the Veli guesthouse. A very special and highly recommended experience!

5.00We spent a fantastic couple of hours in Zemo Alvani. We were welcomed into the home with a coffee, and then taken on a tour of the wool processing factory. Our guide spoke excellent English and gave us a detailed account of how the Tusheti sheep's fleeces are processed. We met an amazing lady who was hand stitching a traditional Tushetan shepherd's coat. We were then taken to the Cultural Centre where we met another lady who showed us the crafts that were made using the sheep's fleeces. I even had a go at needle felting. We then returned to the guides' home where we enjoyed the most fabulous authentic Georgian food and wine. Definitely worth the money. A great day out.
