You’ll meet your local host and a small group of fellow travelers before starting a guided tasting of up to 32 traditional Ecuadorian foods, paired with local drinks. This experience is designed for curious eaters — no cooking skills required, just an appetite to understand how people in Cuenca actually eat. As you taste, your host explains what each item is, when locals eat it, and why it matters culturally. Great experience with Vanessa. We had a really good selection of Ecuadorian dishes including fruits. Vanessa patiently explained what each dish was with history of the dishes. And we enjoyed talking to her and her husband about Cuenca. Recommend doing this.

I loved this experience! Vanessa and her husband were such welcoming hosts, and it was fun to try new foods and hear the history behind it. I went solo but ended up meeting new friends, too! It’s been a significant highlight of my time in Cuenca!

Vanessa was a wonderful cook and great conversationalist! She was also very willing to share recipes. My favorite food was the highland ceviche and the espumilla!

Vanessa cooked some great food, and had excellent conversation! She's bilingual so Spanish or English works out either way! Come with an empty stomach or you won't be able to finish all the wonderful food!

Venessa did a wonderful job with many different dishes, both savory and sweet. It was a pleasure! We did not meet at the location indicated in the description but instead at her home- which surprised us.
