Day 1: Discover Iquitos – Nature, Culture & History Once you arrive at the Iquitos airport, we’ll pick you up or from your hotel at 8:00 a.m. start the tour at Belen Market there explore medicinal plants and Amazonian fish. You'll also taste the traditional anticucho de suri, a unique delicacy from the Amazon. From Bellavista Nanay, we navigate the Nanay and Amazon rivers, with the chance to spot pink and gray dolphins. We then visit the Chullachaki Ecomuseum, where we learn about Amazonian cosmovision, the healing properties of Ayahuasca, and try traditional beverages like the famous "Levantar Pájaro Muerto." At Fundo Don Pedrito, we observe paiches and caimans, learning about their conservation and role in the Amazon ecosystem. Later, we head to Yanayacu Eco Lodge, where, after lunch, we take a canoe ride, immersing ourselves in the tranquility of the jungle and its incredible biodiversity before dinner and rest. Day 2: Sunrise Magic, Jungle Giants & Unforgettable Amazon Adventure Wake up to the sounds of the rainforest and set off on a breathtaking canoe ride at dawn (5:00 am), where you’ll witness the jungle awakening and spot colorful exotic birds. After a delicious breakfast, immerse yourself in a guided ethnobotanical hike through the lush flooded forest, discovering towering ceiba and kapok trees. Day 3: Piranha Fishing, Cultural Immersion & Amazon Stargazing We’ll begin the day by breaking down our campsite, ensuring we leave no trace, and heading back to the lodge for a hearty breakfast. Next, we’ll embark on a thrilling piranha fishing adventure, trying our luck at catching these iconic Amazonian fish, known for their sharp teeth and delicious taste. Afterwards, we’ll return to the lodge for a freshly prepared lunch, savoring the flavors of the jungle. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Yanayacu Timicuro farming community, where we’ll immerse ourselves in their traditions, customs, and way of life, gaining insight into their deep connection with the rainforest. Day 4: Monkey Encounters, Yagua Culture & Farewell to the Amazon After a hearty breakfast, we’ll set out for Monkey Island, a primate rescue center where you’ll have the unique opportunity to observe, interact, and even play with rescued monkeys in their natural habitat. we’ll visit a traditional Yagua community, where the artisans will showcase their handcrafted goods and ancestral weaving techniques. You’ll also witness an authentic Yagua dance performance, immersing yourself in their rich culture Before we say goodbye to the jungle, we’ll take a refreshing dip in the legendary Amazon River, a perfect way to connect with nature one last time. Our guide Kevin gave us four intense days full of adventures: canoe excursions, an exciting night outing to spot alligators, piranha fishing, and tarantula spotting. We visited two rescue centres where we were able to interact with monkeys and had the opportunity to see alligators, anacondas, and even a sweet domestic sloth. Kevin taught us a lot about plants and their properties, making every moment interesting and engaging. The lodge was fantastic — cozy and surrounded by nature. A truly unique experience. A special thank you to the chef: we were served traditional dishes, all delicious and full of flavour. Thanks also to José, the manager, who was always very kind and took care of us until the very end, organizing transfers to and from the airport and the hotel in Iquitos. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to live a real adventure in nature! 🇪🇸It was a truly unforgettable experience! 5.00This is a must do trip if you’re visiting Iquitos and the Amazon. It’s exceptionally organised from start to finish but the real highlight is the people. Our flight to Iquitos was changed last minute, but Jose the driver still came and picked us up at 4:30am with a smile. Our next encounter was Marco - really passionate about showing us all the different cuisines in Belen market, the animals in the fish farm and ensured we spotted the dolphins on our way to the lodge. Then came our extraordinary guide, George. Spending 4 days with George was a JOY. He is so incredibly knowledgeable about the Amazon and deeply passionate about conservation. He made sure that everything we did was completely ethical and provided us with once in a lifetime excursions and opportunities. From introducing us to new wildlife we’d never seen before, teaching us how to fish and providing us with insights into Amazonian life, nature and the environment, George did not rest until we had seen everything there was to see. We’ve learnt SO much that we didn’t know before - so if you’re looking to learn and appreciate the Amazon, this is the trip for you. Carlos and his family who run the lodge made everything so comfortable for us and cooked delicious meals every breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are a wonderful family with the world’s friendliest dog. Proving they go above and beyond, after our trip we had an extra day in Iquitos, so Jose spent an extra day with us taking us to the Manatee conservation centre in the city and to a local beach, spending his Saturday with us when he didn’t have to. Meeting wonderful people is one of the joys of travelling and the people you will meet on this tour will be some of the best!

5.00The 3nights/4days trip to the rainforest close to Iquitos with Peru Jungle Tours was an amazing experience. We loved the host and his family of the lodge and our super experienced and local guide Jorge. He made the experience worth every minute. Go ask for him as your tourguide. His englisch is perfect and he loves the jungle and every animal who lives there. Thats why he could explane everything in detail to us. Because of that it was a very educational trip. The lodge is as described very basic with no AC and only electricity from 6pm to 10pm. But thats part of the experience. So don't worry there are always people to talk to. Also the food is great! It is an amazing way to get a real authentic jungle experience. It was not touristy. Bring enough repellant and sunscreen but the mosquitos weren't that bad in october. We only got 3 bites. The heat is exhausting though, especially if you are from nothern europe 😄 We highly recommend this tour. With Jorge! We love you 😘 Tamara and Sebastian

5.00My first experience of the Amazon jungle. It was wonderful! The accommodation is very basic, which sorted me fine. The shower is cold but when it's 36C that's a nice relief. The food was really tasty and everyone so friendly and helpful. WiFi for a couple of hours in the evening if you need your social media fix or contact friends and family. The monkey sanctuary is a real sanctuary and is an educational experience, especially seeing the monkeys in their natural environment. The tribe visit was fun and again, educational. Take extra money as there are gifts to buy. The extra money helps the tribe. They walk a couple of hours out of the jungle to the river bank every day to share their customs with tourists. Two places visited did have caged parrots, crocodiles and anacondas, which was not my scene at all. The numerous trips up and down the smaller river by the lodge was excellent. So many birds, butterflies and insects to see. There was also a short walk through the jungle at the back of the lodge, which was very dense negotiation. Again, with lots of wildlife, including monkeys jumping through the trees. I would recommend this place definitely. A small more personal experience and a great introduction to the Amazon jungle. Shout out to Kevin, my guide. What a lovely man .

5.00Excellent tour, very friendly. They met the itinerary with some flexibility and met some minor requirements that we had, the accommodation is simple and has electricity and internet a couple of hours a day, but most of the time you will be knowing the surroundings, almost always by motor boat. Kevin our guide was pleasant and interesting, definitely a recommended experience

5.00I loved these four days in the Amazon. Our guide, Kevin, managed to fill the days with interesting, beautiful, and exciting excursions from the lodge where we stayed. The food exceeded our expectations! Don’t get too fixated on the itinerary in the description, as it may vary. Let yourself be surprised by what this beautiful place has to offer. The company feels professional, and I would book with them again if I were to do the trip again.

5.00This was an amazing experience. Our guide Kevin was really great, professional, friendly and very understanding of our needs. His knowledge of the Amazon rainforest was superb! Fishing for piranhas, dolphin watching and visiting the monkey rescue center were some of my favorites. Sunrise on the river with all the rainforest sounds was also amazing and very soothing. The lodge offered an authentic experience— I appreciated the fact that we could only use our phones/internet at the end of the day. Also, the food was very good and fresh! Carlos and his wife were great hosts at the lodge. Although, there is only cold water, showers felt great in the heat; very refreshing. I look forward to coming back in the future.

5.00Great trip! This tour is like exploring the village area in Amazon. You don't really go deep in the jungle but you see some animals at the border of the jungle. There are many activities such as fishing, kayaking and trekking in the forest area.
