You will join one of our Naturalist Guides on a snowy adventure through Grand Teton National Park. For a half day (4hr) guided beginner cross-country ski tour, we’ll provide winter ecology interpretation and professional nordic skiing instruction. You will meet us at our downtown meeting location in Jackson WY and then we will provide transportation do one of the many great nordic Ski areas in Grand Teton based on weather and wind conditions. Our programs are offered as small groups with a maximum of 7 participants. Guides are all trained nordic instructors. We will spend a great day half day in the wintrer wonderland of Grand Teton exploring the snow and transport guests back to Jackson. Activity Level: Leisure This type of tour will focus on taking advantage of teaching moments to learn about cross-country skiing technique and winter ecology. We'll have plenty of time to stop and take photos and we'll be moving at a pace where you can easily hold a conversation with friends. We offer private programs that can cater to any activity level. NOTE: Skis and boots are not included as part of this adventure, after booking we will direct you to local rental options for nordic equipment.

Grand Teton National Park Entrance Fee ($20 per person & Valid for 7 days). If you already have a park pass, please bring with you. If you don't have a park pass, you can purchase yours on the tour.

Such a professional and caring company and guides. Our first time cross country skiing was enjoyable and beautiful! We went with our guide, Tyler, who was super interesting and shared a lot of facts about the area, including his deep knowledge and love for Teton wolves! We learned basic skills of skiing and got better as the morning continued.

Our guide,Tyler, was extremely knowledgeable and taught us the 5 techniques of cross-country skiing. We saw moose, elk and wolves. Tyler took us to north Grand Teton NP. It was awesome!

We had the best day! Jeff was an awesome tour guide. It was our first time and he was a great teacher. On our way to the park he stopped to show us wildlife-elk, baldealge, and a moose. We 100% will do another Jackson eco tour next time we come.

What an experience! Our tour guide, Tyler, took us to the northern part of the park in a very remote area. There was about 4 feet of snow and the landscape was gorgeous! Tyler taught us the 5 techniques of cross country skiing and blazed a trail through a glacial plateau. He was so knowledgeable about the animals in the region. We saw grizzly bear hair on a tree, coyote tracks, and wolf tracks. We also stopped at the Elk refuge and saw wolves, moose, antelopes and elk. It was a once in the lifetime experience!

This was such an amazing experience! Tyler G. Was our guide and was so knowledgeable about the wildlife in the area as well as the park and surrounding areas. He did a great job explaining how to operate the cross country skis and I picked it up right away.

We had the best time learning how to cross country ski with David. I had downhill ski experience while my friend had no experience on skis and David was patient and clear as he taught us the basics! Our tour guide from the day before had contacted David so he took us to a different spot and we got to cross country ski down to Jackson Lake. It was snowing during our entire trip and it was a winter wonderland! The small group aspect of this tour can’t be beat! We got lucky enough to have groups of 2 and 4 for our two trips which was amazing, but even a full group includes less than 10. That alone is worth it! JH Eco Tours provides the best experience with snacks, reusable water bottles, hot coffee/tea/cocoa after your experience, and a comfortable van. For cross country skiing you have to bring your own gear, but their partnership with Black Tie Skis was so easy! They came right to our hotel for a boot fitting and we were able to leave our equipment with David to return. David is a gem of a tour guide! He is personable, knowledgeable and kind. You are in luck if he is your guide. JH Eco Tours is the company to tour with. Don’t look any further!

What a fabulous morning! I signed up alone for the 4 hour cross country ski excursion and it turned out to be myself and one other person with our tour guide Bo. We quickly got underway and had an interesting conversation about Jackson Hole, the Grand Teton National Park, and what wildlife we might encounter. Bo is very personable and knowledgeable. The tour was as described and Bo is clearly well suited, both personality and skill-wise, to lead a variety of tours. We saw elk, moose and even a porcupine up in a tree! It’s a shame that our view of the mountains was mostly obscured by the weather conditions, but that didn’t take away from the experience. I highly recommend this excursion and when I return I will plan on another.

My friend and I hadn’t cross country skied in years so we took this class to get back into it and it was perfect! Our guide Bo was a very good guide & instructor!
