We had a great time. Linda is very kind and does this with all her heart. Transporter Rose is great and even dropped us off at our Airbnb. It is fantastic to slay for yourself. We did not get to see the northern ligth, but this was only a minor detail. Great experience!

Wow! What a great experience. They went out of their way to make this trip special. The pick-up at the hotel was perfectly timed, then we were off to the mountain lodge which was about 30 min drive through a wonderful snow landscape. Upon arrival at the lodge we were all handed warm suits, socks, boots, gloves and balaclavas to wear. Then it was off to the sledge for the explanation on how to use it. It was really straight forward… The exciting bit started: meeting the dogs. All sledges were tied to trees and we each had 5 dogs in front of our sledge. One person drives the sledge and teams up with the dogs (that is how it is explained) and the other sits on a nice reindeer skin on the sledge. And then… it’s “OK” and you go! At first it takes a few moments to figure out how fast the dogs go and how to break effectively but it is really not hard! And wow what a landscape we went through… it looked like a fairytale landscape! Halfway through the route we changed driver and then we even saw two moose in the dark. The guide was very good at warning us, and in general regularly checking in during the trip, and patiently waited until the moose had run off. Then it was back to the lodge, but not until we visited the puppy’s! They were so cute. We got nice warm lemonade and chocolate at the lodge and there was a roaring fire to warm up. On the way back to Alta, the Northern Lights suddenly appeared and so the driver stopped at a good spot and gave us all the time for photos! It was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend this trip!!

What a great experience getting to guide and ride our own sled! It was a little chaotic at the beginning but we quickly got the hang of it. We were able to interact with the dogs and puppies and the guides were very good at answering our questions. Bonus— on the drive back to the hotel the driver stopped in the road and we saw a spectacular northern lights show! Very good experience and would highly recommend!!

Picked up and dropped off at the agreed point. It decided to snow, so no Northern lights, but driving through the snow was an experience in itself at night, rushing through the forest, past and over a couple of bridges, over the small rivers. The lady leading us, gave us a safety briefing and tips at the start, and made sure we were ok. She answered questions at the end, when putting away the dogs, and later having a hot drink. We had about 1 and a quarter hours of actual driving the dog sled (a long time it feels like), swapping half way (if you wanted to), and covering about 10km's in total.

Our guide was lovely. Such a great teacher. Took her time to show us the ropes and made sure safety was a priority. She was always checking on us and made sure to stop a few times to check the northern lights. After the sledding we got to meet and greet the wonderful dogs. Such a fun experience.

A transfer to the site of Gargia impeccable (thanks John). A magnificent road, to do and redo to cross elk and aurora borealis. We're well-equipped not to get cold. Serious briefing because it's us mushering them... and it... it makes all the difference. 6 dogs to guide... The top!! Dogs are in dog heaven, they are super happy to run and sequence apulia at the end. Only regret, no Northern Lights that night... But no, no regrets so much the walk in the forest and the plain was top emotions at night. And then... the beautiful meeting on the way back: Rose, a French guide who works for Aeventyr... Next review... Just one thing before... If possible, staying at Gargia Lodge is a great option...

Norway was one of the greatest countries we have visited, and this experience was truly transcendent, exhilarating, and magical. The Northern lights would have been great, but the dogs and the Tundra were what it was all about. Our guide and musher were outstanding, regrettably, however, we’re terrible with human names (possibly Enrico). There’s a special dog named Mira, whom holds my heart though <3.

Fabulous once in a lifetime experience. Some confusion about the meeting point but this was easily and speedily clarified when I emailed the contact at Viator. A real bonus being collected from the cruise port. The guides were lovely, the trail we followed was varied and exciting - like going through Narnia! Being able to drive your own team of huskies was something a lot of other tours did not include and was so exciting. We swapped drivers half way through, but still had over 30 mins each. Boots, snowsuits, gloves etc were provided, but we both got a bit cold when we were passenger, so make sure you wear loads ( especially on your feet). If we find ourselves in Alta again, we will definitely book another trip.
