See Old Faithful unlike the average tourist. This tour uses the Daisy Trailhead to start the six-mile loop hike through the Upper Geyser Basin. This is the only hiking tour of its kind offered regularly in Yellowstone. We encounter the very busy Old Faithful area as the mid-point of our hike. Sections of this hike are on boardwalk. There are also sections on dirt trail where there are few other hikers.
Hike among half the world's geysers. Also see numerous colorful hot springs and vibrant pools. We encounter wildlife from time to time including bison and bear. Take a pit stop at the Historic Old Faithful Inn to visit the facilities.

Upper Geyser Basin
Yellowstone’s famous Old Faithful is a must-see on everyone’s trip to Yellowstone National Park. This is a nice way to tour the Old Faithful area. Don’t get stuck in the busy traffic at Old Faithful! Meet us at the Biscuit Basin Trailhead to see Yellowstone’s most famous geyser, avoiding parking problems. Explore geysers, hot springs, steam vents and mud pots along the Firehole River. The hike is a six hour, six-mile loop. There are some ups and downs along the hike as we follow boardwalks and dirt trails, totaling 500 feet of elevation gain. We learn about the supervolcano we sit in as we enjoy a hearty picnic lunch next to exploding waters. Yellowstone Hiking Guides provides a morning snack, hearty picnic lunch, bear spray, backpacks, optical gear, trekking poles, and a professional guide.
Grotto Geyser
We pass by Grotto Geyser. It is a unique thermal feature with smoke billowing out of its many crevasses.

Dress for the weather. Bring backpack to carry lunch. Be ready for a long walk. Trails are mostly easy.

This was a great experience! Our guide, Spencer, was very knowledgeable and ensured we had a safe and fun experience. Thanks to a bison blocking our path in one area, we doubled back and caught Grand Geyser erupting up close, which really made our trip. We were also able to see Old Faithful erupt twice from different spots. Lunch was great. Highly recommend this hike!

Just arrived home from 5 nights in the park. Spent two days with Yellowstone Hiking Guides. Our guide for the Geyser tour was Ron. What a pro! Great personality, knowledgeable and experienced. We have hiked with guides in Yosemite and in the Swiss Alps before, this was our best experience! The experience with Ron and Yellowstone Hiking Guides was excellent from booking through communications to meeting Ron in the field. Definitely use these guys!!

We had a fabulous hike with Ron, our guide. Ron is personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. We saw many geysers and eruptions during the hike. Ours was a small group of 5 hikers. The hike was mostly on flat terrain. In sum, a most enjoyable tour.

Great hike through the geyser basin. Our guide, Jake was excellent. Very knowledgeable about nature and able to show us features that I would have missed on my own. We were able to see the major geysers (the "touristy" spots) but the majority of the hike was off the beaten path.

Our family booked this experience for our recent trip to Yellowstone. Our guide, Dallas, was extremely knowledgeable and made the hike so much fun! We learned so much about the geothermal features, and he knew exactly when and where to go to get the most out of our six hours. I would highly recommend this tour!

This hike was one of the best we have been on in Yellowstone. To see the different pools and learn about the heat determines which bacteria (if any) grow in it. We were very fortunate that we got to see 6 geisers erupt through out the hike. Michell took us up this hill above old faithful and we got to watch it from there. It is a tremendous sight down below but up above put it into a whole new perspective.
