Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids
The most conspicuous landmark of Saqqara is the Step Pyramid, the tomb of the third Dynasty ruler Djoser or Zoser, built by Imhotep and thought to be the earliest major stone structure erected in Egypt. The form of the pyramid can be explained as a development of the large mastabas (mud-brick tombs) of the First and Second Dynasties; the six steps, each smaller than the one below, having been produced by the addition to the original mastaba of successive new layers of masonry, accompanied by the enlargement of the lower stages. The Step Pyramid stands 60 meters high and is built of locally quarried clay sandstone of poor quality. You can no longer enter the pyramid due to safety issues. The chambers and passages in the interior of the pyramid served partly for the burial of close relatives of the King (in particular those of his sons who died in childhood) and partly for storing grave-goods for the use of the dead

5.00Wow!! Trip of a lifetime!! I cannot say enough good things about out our tour!! We were taken care of from the time we stepped off the plane in Cairo til we got our boarding passes back to London!! Everyone was so kind and professional!! Our guide Rhanda was incredibly knowledgeable and able to make each experience so easy to understand and enjoyable and interesting!! Mahmoud “M” made all our arrangements and transportation so easy and comfortable!! We always felt safe and had security with us on each tour that were helpful with some of the hagglers!! It was so nice not having to worry about where to go or where to shop or eat!! Thank you so much Rhanda & M for making our trip so amazing Habbiis!

Most importantly, my Egyptologist for the Cairo portion of the tour was absolutely super. He made the tour enjoyable and engaging and certainly was a font of knowledge. 5.00Egypt was special. We loved the history, the temples and the ruins in Abu Simbel, everything in Luxor be it the temples or the Valley of the Kings, the pyramids in Giza and the tour of the old town with the church and the synagogue in Cairo. This was only possible because of the impeccable service and hospitality provided by Look at Egypt team. From Niveen’s arrangement and itinerary, the pick up at the Cairo airport till being dropped back. Walid, Mohamed Salah and Ayman were very attentive and took care of us well. The only thing we felt could have been better is the hotel in Aswan.

Service is what I have been apart of for 40 years. “M” greeted us as soon as we got off our flight and took incredible care of walking us thru Visa process, transportation, sincerely serving my husband and myself. Randa, with 19 years as an Egyptologist, beautifully walked us thru History. Without her, we would have been clueless….hopelessly clueless. I would give 6⭐️’s

5.00Our trip started with a 4-night/3-day Nile cruise on the ship Historia, between Luxor and Aswan, stopping at several temples and the valley of the kings along the way. We then spent 2-nights and 2-days in Cairo touring the pyramids, the Egyptian Museum, Coptic Cairo & Khan EL Khalili Bazaar. We had an incredible time and learned so much! Our guides Remon Michel, Mohamed Said, and Mohamed Salah were very knowledgable and friendly. Our tour manager, Mahmoud Hafny, was great. Our only regret is we didn't stay longer. We'd definitely recommend Look at Egypt!

5.00My wife and I are typically DIY travelers so we were somewhat apprehensive about using a tour company and then finding the right tour company as there are so many tour companies in Egypt. From our first consultation to the end of our trip Look at Egypt distinguished themselves from others. They were very accommodating of all our requests and building a trip itinerary that was unique to us. Furthermore, they were very open and honest in their communication regarding their tour company, what we could anticipate with our experience, and finally how things are priced. We consulted with various other tour companies prior to selecting Look at Egypt. For our hoped for itinerary, Look at Egypt provided outstanding value and a very fair price relative to other tour companies for what amounted to the same itinerary. In Egypt itself, our experience was perfect and seamless. We felt safe and cared for throughout our journey in Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan. Mahmoud was highly attentive and communicative via Whatsapp to keep us updated and to let us know exactly where and when he would be. All of our drivers demonstrated utmost professionalism, were punctual, and most importantly, were safe! (especially in Cairo!!). In Upper Egypt, we were again met at the airports and we were always accompanied by our tour coordinator to and from the airports with seamless airline check-in. Our guides were excellent and had a multitude of knowledge of ancient Egypt. We appreciated how they gave us info, but then also free time to explore on our own! They were able to answer almost any question and were always happy to do so. Further, our guides were very accommodating if we wanted to do something "off-script" from the planned tour. We had a quite jam packed trip, and Look at Egypt was able to make it happen! My only regret is that we did not have more time on our trip to see and do more things! I would recommend to any of my family or friends to use Look at Egypt if they are considering a tour of Egypt.

5.00Look at Egypt is an amazing tour team! Well organized throughout Egypt! From Cairo to Aswan, to Kom Ombo, Edfu, the amazing Luxor and back to Cairo. Our Pyramids tour guide Mufasa or Mustafa was fun to spend a day with. He took us to an authentic traditional local food/restaurant that been in business for decades. The best Kefta we had and freshly made Egyptian bread from the burning stove. Mahmoud was very attentive from picking us up at the airport until hotel check in and dropping us off when we flew to Aswan. Ahmed handled every crisis we had and solved them like a pro! Our local guide in Aswan and Luxor was wonderful, very accommodating with our ever changing requests. Book your Egypt tour with Lok at Egypt, if you are going to make your visit an amazing trip to remember, hand them your wish lists, they will give you a few tour proposals to fit your desire, and customize your plan for you. It will be unforgettable one!

5.00This trip was absolutely fantastic! The staff was extremely nice, friendly, and liked to have a good time with us! It felt like being with cousins that I hadn't seen in a long time and we were catching up. They were there for our group every step of the way! They were VERY knowledgeable and informative. Randa was our guide and you could tell that she loves her job, this is her passion! Amed and Mahmoud were so much fun and helpful. They were like big brothers who protected and guided their little sisters because our group was mostly women. I cannot name my favorite because I REALLY like more than one thing. The Ballon ride over the Valley of the Kings was absolutely amazing! That was my first balloon ride and I am look forward to my next one. Going to and climbing the inside of the Great Pyramid was incredible! How many people can say they did that??? The cruise down the Nile River was beautiful! I can't believe I was on the Nile! The food on the cruise was delicious! I gained about 7 pounds on this trip! The shopping was a little exhausting the EVERYONE bombarding you to buy from them. I loved the shopping and we could of used more time to shop because it took a minute just to get in a store it seemed like. The Egyptian night party was a blast! We danced and laughed all night! The Nubian Village was a treat! It was so colorful and vibrant! I even got a henna tattoo that I loved! The vibe was so happy just like our tour group! Overall this was a great trip with the Look at Egypt Tour Guide Co. If you ever get a chance to visit this great country, used them!

5.00The entire trip was amazing which makes it very difficult to pick out one favorite. The balloon ride over the Valley of Kings was an experience of a lifetime that I will always remember and the Nile cruise rates at the top. From the moment I arrived in Cairo and met Ahmed and his staff, I knew that I was about to enjoy a vacation to remember as one of the best. The level of customer care and the willingness and desire to please and share the best that Egypt has to offer made this dream vacation one of the best I have taken. The fascinating history of Egypt came alive with the enthusiasm and passion that Ahmad and his staff offered our group. Their awareness for detail to customer care left no stone unturned!
