Phuket Elephant Sanctuary is the first and only ethical elephant sanctuary in Phuket where elephants roam around, bathe and sozialize freely across 30 acres of lush, tropical land bordering the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park in North East Phuket. We buy all rescued elephants to ensure that Phuket Elephant Sanctuary is their final home, and we offer professional veterinary care for old and injured elephants. By visiting us, you are supporting a sustainable, ethical and compassionate approach to elephant tourism where elephants have the freedom to live naturally. National Geographic, Lonely Planet and The Guardian have all endorsed our ethical approach.

5.0What am amazing day! You meet at the main meeting place and load onto 10 person shuttles that take you to the actual Sanctuary. Rudi was our Guide. His knowledge of the background of the Sanctuary was phenomenonal! You start the tour with a short video detailing how the Sanctuary came about. Next you get to feed a REAL, LIVING ELEPHANT! After giving them some breakfast, it was time to head out and meet some more of the elephants. You start out on the elevated sky walk and then go down to ground level and mingle with these wonderful animals. After walking around a bit, it is time for lunch. It is advertised as a vegetarian/ vegan meal, but was surprisingly good. After lunch, there is time to do a little shopping at the little Sanctuary store. They said that the proceeds help fund their efforts. I feel that the cost was definitely worth it and my wife got to hang out with her favorite animal!

5.0HELP SUPPORT THE ELEPHANT SANCTUARIES!! The experience is awesome! Come close to these majestic creatures who are being well-cared for during their rehabilitation. After years of abuse and misuse by humans, it's heartbreaking to hear and see the damage done, but thankfully they can live out the remainder of their years in this peaceful sanctuary. Also, the good was great! If you've never tried thai food and want to experience a little of everything, this was a great way to do it!

5.0All money goes towards taking care of these elephants. It was such a heartwarming experience. These elephants have had a pretty traumatic life up until they moved them to the elephant sanctuary. There they can live out the rest of their lives happy and taken care of. We loved the tour and would highly recommend going to see for yourself. Yaya was our guide and she was fantastic.

5.0This extremely well organized tour was amazing! From pick up close to cruise ship to return, very organized. The gentle giants are beautiful and very well cared for. It was unreal to stand so close to these big guys! Very tasty lunch with lots of variety. Thank you Viator and Phuket Elephant Sanctuary for a day I will never forget!
