In this tour we will visit the wonderful town of Alberobello (also known as the city of trulli) and Matera
Alberobello was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996 because it is an exceptional example of building construction with prehistoric techniques that have survived intact and are still functioning in the modern world.
A "Trullo" is in fact a small limestone house, made with dry stone walls, roughly worked limestone blocks collected from nearby fields and topped with a conical roof.
Souvenir shops, B&Bs, bars and restaurants will brighten up your stay in Alberobello.
Matera is the city of the Sassi, the original urban nucleus, developed from natural caves dug into the rock and subsequently modeled into increasingly complex structures within two large natural amphitheatres that are the Sasso Caveoso and the Sasso Barisano.

2.00Booked this tour and paid on booking dot com with 2 guides for both destinations. Been contacted by the operator to cancel the initial booking as they don't have available a guide for Alberobello and to book via their site, so this way will avoid extra fees that applies via booking. The guide in Matera definitely needs a brake , as well the tour was done on fast forward . I would not recommend this service.

4.00The bus trip was great except the guide in Matera, he was unprofessional, no Guid ID & coloured flag/umbrella, no excursion’s plan, just running & forth & back, I was taking a picture of the historic Church, he just disappeared with the remaining 7 people, ( initially it was 15 people one hour earlier), he didn’t keep track of his group. He lost me after an hour of 3 hour excursion. I turn around and he disappeared, later on the bus, one lady told me that they went down the side stairs to continue running after guide without excursion flag. It was very disappointing part of lost time, money, history knowledge in English language being so far from Bari & being lost in Matera 👎🏻

5.00The friendly bus driver drove calmly and safely. The brochure and the film on the busboard were informative. Meeting places and times were well chosen and adhered to.

5.00Outstanding tour! Well organized and punctual. Definitely worth paying slightly more to have a live personal guide. Michaela met us at Alberobello; she was very knowledgeable, explaining the history and architecture of the trulli houses. She gave us good recommendations for food before the 1 hr 45 min drive to Matera. We did not know what to expect in Matera, and this turned out to be a magnificent tour! Cossimo, a native of Matera, provided us so much info and history about the city and stassi, He guided us through the historic sites, which we would not have completed if we had traveled alone. Our driver, Daniel, was wonderful, so friendly and professional; riding on the bus allowed us to observe the views of the area without worrying about traffic and directions. Overall, memorable and exceeded our expectations!

3.00It was a smooth journey overall, but the MUSIC ON BUS IS TOO LOUD. It was a full day trip and would be nice to have some quiet time to rest on the bus instead of listening to the very loud music. Also tiring to talk over the music with my partner on the bus. I hope this can be improved for other travellers in the future.
